Do you visit "those other parks"?

This is exactly what we did. We went to Sea World after our first cruise, and spent two days at Universal before our second cruise. Once I am on Disney property however, I do not leave LOL.

We're going to spend 9 nights at AKL and then 4 nights at Royal Pacific. From what I'm reading, I can get almost everything in UO/IOA done in 2 1/2 days (especially with the onsite front of the line pass), and the parks close earlier than Disney...so I'm thinking that not only will I get to check out Universal, but I'll get a chance to really hang by the pool...something I rarely do at Disney! So, it's kind of like two separate vacations, but without the extra airfare!

And bonus...at Universal you can pool hop to any of the onsite hotel pools. So you can also check out the pools and pool activities at Hard Rock(underwater music) and PB.

I love Uni.

I love Sea World.

I love Disney.

DHS is not as good as either of the Uni parks, so I can totally see someone preferring to skip it in favor of Uni. I would, too.

Most water park people prefer Aquatica to either of the Disney water parks.

If a person enjoys theme parks, they should go to Uni and Disney and Sea World, if they are lucky enough to be able to do all that. :)

Upset's the wrong word for it. It was their choice. I just happen to think there is so much that Disney has to offer, and personally I don't get that from the times I have been to Universal. Sure if you have plenty of time to see both, why not. But if I have to make a choice between Universal and Disney, I always go Disney and it just seems to me that I *never* have enough time to see everything I want in Disney even if I were there for a solid month! :cool1: So I guess I don't get why people would choose U over HS.

But that is really why I was asking (and by the way, I don't just want a jutify me everyone say only disney) - I am curious if others usually go Disney only (because there is so much to see) or if they try to split their time, or what?

I do have to admit I have never been to Aquatica. The water slide looks neat, but it looks like you would barely get a chance to enjoy the under water part as it's so short! Ultimately last time there we ended up at Typhoon because it's easier to just hop the Disney Bus when you stay on Disney Property taken there by Magical Express without a car....

I would choose Universal over WDW every time. I much, much prefer it. However, I really like DL and would choose it over WDW every time also.

I like SeaWorld too.

You can sleep in, too! :)

And Uni delivers packages to your hotel room. :)

It's very nice over there and I just love RPH. Enjoy!

You should really go back and see Uni today. Then you'll understand why people would choose it over Disney. :)

Moving to TP Community as this is not about WDW planning.

The USF boards are a great source of information related to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.

LOL...I don't sleep in! My eyes open at 6 am even if I over-indulged into the wee hours the night before. But I will be enjoying that early hour at WWoHP!
The package delivery is a nice touch...though there's usually no hassle at the deluxe resorts just picking them up at the gift shop on my way to my room.
And I'm really looking forward to pool hopping!

I went t universal last summer. Mainly for WWOHP....I haven't been there n maybe 20 years.
It was dirty and unkept.

Maybe if you have teenagers who love thrill rides...it's not for me .

Plus when you are purchasing Disney passes for just a few bucks more you could have extra days in Wdw.

I would like to take another trip and do sea world and discovery cove. I don't see the need for my small family to return to U anytime soon.

I've heard more than my fair share of complaints about UOR but I've never heard that one. UOR is just as clean and well-maintained as WDW and you don't have all the sneezing little kids around.

Have you ever been to a Six Flags? Just sayin'...

I have never been to any other tourist location/park in the area. I want to visit Holy Land Experience and Kennedy Space Center, but I have yet to go. Hopefully soon.
