We started the Haunted Mansion theme in our office in the basement. I don't think it will be too tacky for a basement once we finish it. Here is a link to a thread where I posted some pictures.
We did Mickey in the basement bathroom.
Here is a link to a thread where many people posted pictures of there Disney bathrooms. I post photos on there too. Post #30 & Update on #41
I have something Disney in every room of my house. From Thomas Kincade prints to pins and mouse ear hats. My baby boy's room is vintage Mickey which I love. Someone who came in my house would know I loved Disney but I don't think it's overwhelming at all.
totally decked out with Disney stuff. She has three bookcases with just Tink stuff and we have the DVC stuff we have collected over the years in practically every year. our finished basement is like a Disneyana museum with items from 1926 through the 80's. The spare bedroom has over two hundred disney watches, coins, medallions, golf items and other neat stuff!
Most of our Disney stuff is art--animation cels, a couple of framed pieces in the living room and hallway. Other than the cels, it doesn't really scream Disney. We have some Disney kitchen items, and the guest bath(which is really my bathroom since guests are a rarity) is decked out in Mickey.
I'm sure many Disers have seen that email that surfaces from time to time with "advice on how to live". One of my favorites is to "surround yourself with things you love." I think we've accomplished that
I have two curios cabinets one decidcated to DRL and one to WDW. I prefer the older more retro items and most have come from ebay, although I do have some more recent items in the curios as well. In my basement hanging as a group are water color pictures of all the deluxe resorts in WDW and the GC in CA. Those always get a lot of comments. We have tons of Christmas ornaments, my favorite being a 3 piece glass monorail. We also have lots of coffee mugs (collect those from where ever we go). We also have photos in frames scattered throught the house. Not sure I actually decorate with Disney but do lots of accents for sure
A few years ago, I took a DVC welcome home folder (from when we checked in) and framed it. I have it hanging in my side door hallway - its a really small hallway but I like seeing "welcome home"!
It has cinderella's slipper, a goofy mug/mickey/minnie and donald - home like items on it. I thought it was really cute when we received it at check in and wanted to re-use it somehow.
I also have various kitchen items and my most favorite is a framed and personally signed photo with our family name on it from Mickey, Goofy, and Minnie all decked out in their safari gear from the welcome basket we received from Animal Kingdom Villas on the first day that they opened at Jambo House. That hangs in my bedroom which is now Safari themed.
We keep a piece or 2 (small) in each room, it is a great conversation starter with guests and when entertaining for business. Most of the time folks only notice it in one room.
We have a few items here and there but our style and house do not lend themselves to a heavily themed Disney room. We have a mickey pancake mold hanging in the kitchen along with a ghost mickey MNSSHP popcorn bucket. My dining room has a bead giraffe I was given at AKL, not exactly screaming Disney with that one. I also have a lithograph posted to my bulletin board. Some Poly leis hanging in my bedroom.
We have some disney friends who also have more understated decorating tastes and honestly I cannot think of anything in their house Disney except for some mugs. On the other hand I do not think I have seen the husband without a WDW shirt or jacket I have another Disney friend and her entire condo is Disney. It works really well and is a lot of fun to visit. But it totally fits her personality and style.
We have posters from the parks that I have framed in our basement-love working out and seeing those pictures and reliving the MAGIC. I have framed several pictures that we got from being DVC members-I put those on our bedroom wall-love the picture of Mr. and Mrs. Disney walking arm and arm. We have 2 oil paints from the cruise on our wall as well. I have an old Mickey toothbrush holder in my bathroom. Not much else-we are toying with getting some of the small boxes (letter boxes?) and making a shelf to put those on. We are going to DLP in a month and can't wait to see what we bring home!

We kept the bucket that had popcorn in it from Christmastime and put our change in that-I guess that could help to contribute to our Disney trips.
I was going to say there's not a room in my house w/o some sort of disneyana about, but it's probably closer to 'not a wall'. I'd like to think it small, tasteful, ala a hidden mickeyand it gives me joy.
I do it more with personal pictures from our lastest trip. I have black and white photos of each kid in our hallway - So DS with birtday ears, another DS at BC pool, another DS with Stitch (collected those pins) and last DS on the playground at Flower and Garden. Each one of them brings back a great memory reminds me of WDW.
