Catch MJJ parade at AK at 4 pm and make it to 1900 Park Fare in the GF for a 5 pm PS? We missed this parade last year and I don't really want to miss it again:( I forgot the parade was at 4 pm when I made my dinner plans for that day.
Ooops, I forgot to mention that we would have our own car so we could drive from AK to the GF.

With your own car I think you could make it. Have you tried to push the PS back a little?

You just might be able to swing this IF all the planets align perfectly. I would try to get a location to view the parade at AK as close to the exit as possible, then hightail it out the exit and to your car. (It might also be good to arrive early this day so as to get a closer parking spot). The next challenge is the distance you have to travel to get to the Grand Floridian. Although traffic itself won't be a problem, you've got a ways to go. I would recommend taking along the phone # of 1900 park fare with you, and calling them on your cell when you're on your way to let them know you're coming. Have a great trip!:wave2:

Maybe if you are driving a Ferrari :) just kidding...

You are cutting it really close- I would try to push the PS to 5:30. Better to get there early than late.

I'd say no. It would be really close. I'd suggest pushing the PS back by 30-45 minutes just to give yourselves cushion time.

Let's see:
Parade start - 4pm
Parade end - approx. 4:20pm
get out of park, run to tram, run to car - approx. 4:30pm (if lucky)
drive to MK gates with little traffic - approx. 4:45pm
drive to GF, find a parking space and RUN to Park Fare - 4:59pm ;)

More likely:
Parade end - 4:20pm
out of park, to tram and car - 4:40pm
drive to MK gates with traffic & a Guest with questions in front of you - 5:05pm
drive to GF, park and leisurely walk to Park Fare - 5:25pm

I would say no way. Most people leave right after the parade, so you'll be fighting your way out to the front gate, fighting your way to the trams, fighting your way to the car, fighting your way out the exit. Then you have traffic to deal with, red lights, finding parking at GF, walking to Park Fare. I'd say a good 1/2 - 3/4 hour gone right there.

How bout changing the day when you go to AK? That's easier than changing PSs

I would say no - even with your own car. Parking at the GF is a pain, when we went for lunch at the GFC, we couldn't find one single empty spot in guest parking and had to pay valet... just took time. Getting there by Disney transportation takes even longer =)

See if you can change your PS later =)

I kinda thought that might be cutting it too close. We have already seen the AK parade before so it won't be too big of a deal if we miss it this trip. Thanks!!

Do you think it would be better to park at MK and take the monorail to the GF?

Your walk is very long from the MK parking lot and GF self parking. Gf self parking will be WAY quicker overall than parking at the MK and going via the monorail.

If you decide to keep things as they are, valet at the GF has got to be considered as an option, as it will save you time. That said, I agree with the other vets here that think you can't make it. MargieJ's timeline looks about right to me, too. I know it's not what you want to hear, but it is reality immediately following the parade. Keep calling CRO every day until a later slot opens. It's not worth losing your reservation over, and it may come down to making a choice about which is more important to you. I doubt they will turn you away at 1900, but if everyone is showing up for their ressies you could be in for a very long wait. At that time of day most 'regular' restaurants are quite slow, but I have never done a character meal at that time of day. I really have no idea about how busy they would be between 5 and 5:30 :)
