we got such a great deal that i am thinking about next years trip-and we still haven't done this years yet!! staying at the WL for 8 days for $1200 with passes inc (for me, husband & infant)
do you think disney will ever do a fairy tale pkg. again? i know it is over already for this year, but the thought of going again & spending oodles of money after we got such a good deal pains me!
AND we're flying 1st class, on our miles, so we have an even better deal!

help! i want to plan next years NOW, but should i WAIT?
thanks!!!

When the FTP first came out I was sure it was a once in a life time deal. However, this morning I read on the resort board that people that booked the FTP are getting an email survey from Disney. Everyone said they are writing that they would not have taken a trip this year without the FTP.

Maybe if disney gets enough responses like this, they'll offer more great packages in the future. My October trip is to short for me to have taken advantage of the FTP. Maybe next time.

I think that when they see bookings are way down they will do whatever it takes to fill the rooms and the parks. Likewise when bookings and anticipated park attendance are up, so will be room rates, and discounts will be more difficult to find. :(

I'm really not sure, but as you can see from the previous responses, it wouldn't be wise to plan your trip if only waiting for the FTP. If having the FTP is more important then going no matter what it takes, then yes, you may want to hold off and see if the package is even going to be available next year.

One suggestion I might add is purchasing Annual Passes if the FTP isn't available to you. Resort room discounts are offered (most of the time, up to 45% off rack rate), and if you plan on 8 days or more in the park, then it would be worth it.

When I questioned several cm's this same question, they all told me if the economy doesn't pick up, then YES they will do it again. I called about making new ressies for the future and I questioned them all, they all said the same thing. I don't think thats just a coincidence. For everyone that the ftp helped I hope they release another package as good as this one.

In the mean time.....

Thanks, tink2dw, that is one great post!

My question is about this year's FTP. I'm wondering if I paid too much. I'll be solo at ASMo arriving 10/18/03 leaving 10/25/03. That's 7 nights/8 days.

On the MouseSavers site, a 4-night stay at an All-Star Resort, standard view, regular season, at $99 a night plus 12% tax, comes to $443.52 = $99 x 4 x 1.12.

An Ultimate Park Hopper ticket for one adult, 4 nights/5 days (advance purchase price) is $265.19, including 6.5% tax.

So, by my arithmetic the total is $708.71 = $443.52 + $265.19. I understand the FTP simply gives 3 extra days free.

If I paid $749.89, did I pay $41.18 too much? Or am I not figuring it correctly? Is the framed art keepsake free or is that the difference? Thanks in advance for any Disney pricing information you can give me on the FairyTale Package!

It's really only 3 night hotel stay for free. You still have to pay the Park Tickets balance for the 3 days.
Hope that helps.

Thank you KDawnLily. But, no, I'm just as confused as before.

An Ultimate Park Hopper ticket for one adult, 7 nights/8 days (advance purchase price) is $365.30, including 6.5% tax.

So, the new total is $808.82 = $443.52 + $365.30, with the FTP simply giving 3 extra hotel nights free, along with the framed art keepsake.

If I paid $749.89, did I somehow get a further discount of $58.93?

"If I paid $749.89, did I somehow get a further discount of $58.93?"

It looks that way.
I started thinking about your numbers and were are going in Nov. Staying at ASMo. There are 3 adults and 1 child. We are paying $2417(including taxes) for 14 nights, 15 days for the FTP.
Room only costs would be $1298 (includes $10 extra adult fee/night). The UPH's for the adults only would be $2191 for the two weeks(using your numbers).
SO we are saving $1071 without even factoring in the cost of the Child's UPH.
WOW.
More $ for shows, dinners and MICKEY BARS!

I agree 100%. It bugs me I can't nail this down, but as they say, "Why ask why?"

There's a lot more going on with your situation than mine, KDawnLily. The 14 days of your UPH passes are not comparable to my number from MouseSavers which was for 8 days. Some advisors suggest an Annual Pass for visits of longer than 11 days. Perhaps you could've done even better. I know I could've done better by going in September for the value season. But I prefer late October so it's a trade-off. Maybe next time I'll learn something from these boards and get some even deeper discounts. :D
