We just got back from two weeks at WDW. (last two weeks of June)
Our MB worked fine, never had an issue there. Getting in to the parks were a lot faster. I'm still wishing they would have an AP only line at DLR.
We do not have an iphone, we had itouch so we relied on their wifi. On the whole it was very good. Often on buses between parks and resorts it didn't come in. At some shows I couldn't get it. But 95% of the time it worked fine.
We liked not fiddling with a zillion little pieces of paper before walking up to a FP line. On the flip side, I didn't like that I had to consult
MDE each time I wanted to remember when my FP was. I actually brought a little note book and wrote down FP and ADRs just in case.
I have to say I also liked being able to pick your time instead of getting a FP for an inconvenient time.
I didn't like having to decide 60 days out which rides I wanted to ride and when especially since I had never been and knew nothing about them. Getting extra FPs after your 3 was a pain because you had to find a kiosk and they were few and far between. Often you were left with rides that didn't need a FP.
Figment was always 5 min when we were there so that one was a waste. The green side of Mission Space was also always 5 min. Spaceship Earth was a steady 20-30 min all day so a FP there was helpful. But you could never get a FP for Soarin and Test Track in the same day. Just didn't happen. Overall, most of the "extra" FPs were just a waste and not really needed. They also didn't really have very many rides in one park so of course the big ones are going to fill up faster.
I just can't imagine how they would manage FP+ for AP holders at DLR. Will they limit you to a certain amount per month? Per week? What about those AP holders like us who come for a week? Would we not be able to get as many FP as a ticket holder because our "quota" would be filled? If they aren't very careful, I can see many many AP holders not renewing. Maybe they want that? I'm not sure what they think.
