Do you think Disney will let my 2019 borrowed points be placed back into 2019?

Had a short trip down planned for December at the Poly but now I am thinking that will probably be a no go. We have found out that my daughter is in need of another surgery on her back in the Grand Cayman
and we will be heading there most likely in either December or January. Even though this trip and surgery will not be on our dime, thank God, a trip to Disney just doesn't make much sense with a trip down there for a week.

I borrowed the points from my 2019 use year and I am wondering if I explain all this to them if they would grant me a one time reverse of borrowing points and place them back into my 2019 use year? If they won't we will just take another water park trip with them in say June for a few nights, so either way we will be good, but I thought I would ask.

I have heard of them making one time banking exceptions. Don't recollect them doing it for returning borrowed points to the original UY.

But you don't know what's possible until you ask, right? Who knows? You may get lucky!

Best wishes on your daughters surgery... hope all goes well.

ETA: If they can't return the points to the original UY maybe you should consider renting out the reservation... December at the Poly, I'm sure you would have someone be glad to take it!

I am not sure. They did allow me to bank points after the deadline long ago. I wish you success with reinstating those 2019 points, but even more, I hope your daughter has a great surgical result!

They made an exception for just this sort of thing yesterday. Placed points used for a trip in 2018 back to 2019 when I purchased a contract in secondary market that had 2018 points. It took three calls and finally asking to speak to a supervisor to make it happen but they did do it. They were clear this was an exception and to not expect it as a normal course of action, but it is certainly possible.

BTW I asked to speak to a supervisor when they told me if I had bought the points from Disney direct instead of resale they would have done it for sure but did not grant exceptions for resale contracts.

Ya, that is BS.

If they will, fine, if they don't we will just take another water park only trip in say June or July. I am just going to wait till next month before I decide anything for sure.

If you explain that it is for serious medical reasons for a close family member, they might well do so. Ask them if they need a letter from her doctor.

When I bought a resale contract this past summer, I closed the first week of July and it had a bunch of points that would have been expiring at the end of July. This was during the time everyone was on vacation and it was taking a long time for contracts to show up. I called MS frequently to ask them when points would show up, because I reallyreallyreally wanted to be able to use them before they expired on 7/31. On each of my calls with MS they were vaguely like, "don't worry about it, just give us a call back when the points show up." While they didn't explicitly say so, they seemed to suggest that they would have let me bank the points. I didn't want to deal with the repeated calls to try to make it happen, and I already had a renter lined up, so I ended up renting the points on very short notice. But if I hadn't had a renter ready to go, I would have been speed dialing MS right away.

(In short, while I wouldn't count on it, it is still worth a try.)

Oh, we will just use them in June if they give me much of a problem. I won't mind doing so...:teeth:

I am not counting on it happening, but will ask, or might just change my mind and book a trip in June. Who knows? Either way, I will use them.
