What I meant was why would the Contemporary spend the $ to add a fridge into the Atrium Club Level lounge, if they were supposed to having cut backs of the food offerings and etc which isn't true.

I also forgot to mention I personally know someone that works in the Bakery of the Contemporary that makes foods for their Club Level floor and he told me personally there was never any plans to reduce the amount of foods which get served up there.

Okay well that's good to know. But I do remember quite a few people stating there were cutbacks in the other resorts. Tiger also mentioned this for the Yacht Club.

Hmmmm. I remember getting a mug that was at least 32 ounces. So, essentially the mug container has been cut in half.

Hi Pirate Jeff. Hope things are doing well for you. I can't believe the monorail cutback either. That would really get me p'od, to pay top premium for a monorail resort, only knowing that I have to take a bus or boat back to my hotel. It is ridiculous.

Um, it's still a refillable mug, so what difference does it make if it's half the size? Go refill it. They aren't changing that, just that you can't refill it after your stay.

Well, to me it's a BIG difference. When you have a large cup 32 ounces of beverage (iced tea for me) it will usually last over maybe an hour or 2. When you have a 16 ounce size, it doesn't last very long. It's very inconvenient to refill the 16 ounce mug when they used to have a 32 ounce mug that would last a lot longer.

No matter where you go on vacation it's expensive, everything is expensive, the gas prices going up, food prices going up, everything, I personally feel that Disney is well worth the money that you pay. Especially if you stay for 10 days, they have different food plans for anyone on any budget. They have a hotel for anyone on any budget. Disney raising the prices won't keep me from visiting, but it may keep me from visiting as often as I would like.

And that's without ice. Depending where you are staying, refilling can be inconvenient. You have to want a drink really bad to walk 20 minutes each way for cup of coke.

Do you have a pic of the old mugs that were 32 oz.?

Just thought I would drop in tonight to see what was new on the boards and saw the monorail cutback thing. It seems everytime I come on here disney is adding costs and taking things away,WOW what a bummer. It really is a shame, I really think they need to look at management there before it is too late.

I always enjoy chatting with you brunette. I really hope this policy goes bye bye,but I have my doubts. With the recent moves by management I think they are really "removing pixie dust" at every turn.It has been over 2 years since my wife and I have gone and with current trends it will probably be another 2 or so.This will be the longest drought for us since our honeymoon in 1985.We still love disney, but price and these other changes keep piling up so they have transformed a family who went every year to one who has drastically cut back!

Hey! I am currently getting ready to leave for Disney at end of week, but hubby is at hospital getting medical tests. A bit worried about him and our trip, so I'm on here trying to take my mind off of that...

I should have said we haven't stayed at Yacht Club in a few years, so perhaps it's better? We just found their policies and maintenance to be very different than Contemporary, but perhaps it's better now?

Summer is going ok, just waiting on those test results for hubby. Please send us pixie dust that we can leave for our trip without any worries about his health!

Tiger :)
Tiger, I just wanted to wish your hubby well. I hope that they find nothing serious and that you get to take what will be a much needed vacation now!

Hi! I don't. My friend at work had one when she was at the Carribean beach hotel back in 2004. But no I don't have a picture, I wish I did though.

Thanks, anyway. I wanted to get a visual comparison. :) I hate seeing things shrink!!

I know. I haven't even told my husband yet because I know he is going to freak out. We are Contemporary and Monorail lovers and if I tell him we have to walk back after EMH at 2 am, he is not going to be very happy. We always talked about how when we have kids the monorail resorts will make things so easy. I hope they don't keep cutting back. It is sad when they mess with something you've looked forward to.

I still love going to the World, but I feel like they just aren't offering an overall number of great attractions as in the past. There are still wonderful experiences at all the parks, especially MK and EP, but the removals and additions in the past 10 years have led to a slightly lesser experience. And it's also a lot more expensive.

Hey FLIX!

Yeah, I missed you there for a while. I enjoy chatting with you too! At least we're on the same page with most things Disney. LOL! You're right though the Monorail is a biggie for us. Why would they stop running this transporation mode, when most people that stay at the monorail resorts are paying for this! How much money do they think it will save them running more busses, especially with the gas prices going up. Sooner or later people are just going to stop going. Between the holiday decorations disappearing, the holiday surcharges at buffets, the lack of decoration during the Mickey parties, the lack of fireworks at EPCOT, ticket pricing soaring...sheesh what's next!? :confused3

I'm afraid to speculate, it may give Disney ideas!;)

hey all!

wouldn't you know it? after 18 trips to WDW, we have FINALLY decided to splurge and stay at a monorail resort!:rotfl2: in sept. no kidding. go figure.
actually, we were planning on walking back to BLT anyway, but after reading all 12 pages of the monorail thread on the DVC board, it seems like one night, agter illumination, MK is closed early for Night of Joy, and consensus is the MK monorails (both the express and resort loops) will not be running. so I guess it's a bus from epcot. or boat or bus from the ttc to CR?
not that we're not used to buses or anyting. Its' just that we planeed our MK and epcot days for when we were at BLT, to USE the MONORAIL!!!:rotfl: finally.
we planned out DHS and AK days for when we will be at AKL.

oh, yeah! but no more night time EMH at AK.. crap. hubby doesn't see good in the dark.. we save the dark rides until dark, so he can actually SEE the dinosaur. not happening this trip.....rats. ;)

and, yeah, I'm complaining, but still going.. I know, I know.

but this trip is our reward for quitting smoking (Jan 25!) both of us.. together... no smoking not once since!!! not that I'm counting or anything..
we are saving a TON of money!!!!! by not smoking.:yay:
