Do you think a 7:20AM flight to come to orlando is too early?

Our flight leaves Pittsburgh at 7:40 and I think we land at MCO around 9:30ish. Since we have to get up at 3:00 to get ready, and drive to the airport, I think day 1 for us will be relaxing by the pool, DTD and the Boardwalk. Or if we feel up to it we might to go MK for EMH. I really need to get started on some sort of itinerary. :rotfl:

I'm going to get the 6 day passes for a few dollars more just in case we do decide to go to a park. An extra park day for $6.00 can't be beat, even if it is only a partial day.

I changed my time to 7:20 AM flight. We have to print our boarding passes for SW at 12:01 AM or later so I might set an alarm to do that :sunny: bright and early. I'll try to get sleep on the plane. We land at 9:30 AM at MCO. I guess a room won't be ready by the afternoon at least but we'll see. From what I have heard the standard rooms are booked up around that time so most likely one will not be available until the mid-afternoon. We'll drop the luggage off and go to MGM that day. Maybe take a rest by the pool first :)

I feel better having more MGM studios time. Before it didn't look like we'd make it there until 3PM - with rides, shows having certain times, parade, fantasmic dinner PS up in the air (still trying to get later one rather than 4:10), and fantasmic itself I felt getting there at 3 we wouldn't get much accomplished.

we like to take the earliest flight out of MSP to MCO. Our upcoming flight leaves at 7:20 a.m. which is the earliest flight I could get at a "reasonable" rate.

We like to get to MCO-check in - store luggage with hotel - hit the parks. The more park time the better. If the room is ready when we get their - bonus, if not - no loss off to the parks we go.

Enjoy your trip!

We actually chose to take the last flight in the night before vacation officially starts (like Fri PM). My husband is a nervous flyer and needs his Xanax, so this way he can sleep it off once we get there (about 9:30 PM) and we're ready to go the next morning right from our rooms on-site! :cool1:

We always take the 1st flight out of Detroit (normally around 7:00 am) a get to MCO by 10:30. We almost always are in our room by 12:00 (almost always the room is ready).

Now this means we wake up at 3:30 am or so. If we don't take a nap we are always dead asleep by 9:00 the 1st day. :goodvibes

This next trip the 1st flight was $20 more then the 11:00 one, (x 4 that adds up) so we decided to try that and see how it is. I think it will feel strange, getting their later, but at least we don't have to wake up at 3:30 am (like I sleep anyway, too excited!) :flower:

I plan on using Magical Express for my checked bagage. If my room is not ready when we get there, can I leave my carryon stuff at the resort so we can hit the parks or do whatever?

Our family takes the 6am Delta flight out of Baltimore and we arrive in MCO around 10'ish. That means we have to get up at 3am to take the 30 minute drive to BWI and ensure we are at least two hours early. We don't mind arriving early. That just gives us extra time in WDW and relax.

We are flying out at 6:30am and arriving at MCO at 8:05am hopefully we'll get to our WL by 9:00 or 9:30, then leaving our bags in storage and off to MGM!! I can't wait!!! :flower:

We leave Sacramento, CA at 6:30 pm on Friday, stop @ Seattle for a few hours and then fly all night to get to Orlando at 6:30am Saturday.

I thought I was the only crazy! We leave Orange County, CA at 8:30pm Fri, fly all night, and arrive in Orlando at 6:30am Sat. We're also using Magical Express for our luggage, so at least we won't have to worry about that. Travelling from the West Coast it seems like such a waste of the hotel cost to arrive in the evening.

Last year we flew out of Chicago at about 7:30am or something like that, and arrived at 9:30am. While we couldn't officially check in, the hotel did hold our luggage for us so we could go explore and play. We usually play miniature golf and make our way to DTD. We always try to catch the earliest flight possible so that way we have a full day when we get there.

This year our flight is at 8:20am I believe.

HECK NO!!! Our flight leaves LGA at 6:30 AM!!! :earseek: DH and I were just discussing with the girls tonight how early we'll have to get up for the limo . . . they were like, "We shouldn't even go to sleep!!!" We will be SO EXCITED we probably won't!!! :confused3

We are morning people so I ALWAYS look for the earliest flight out, especially since we need to change planes once. I try to fly out by 6:00 a.m. whenever possible. Just grab some caffeine first. princess: pirate: :earboy2:

I've had earlier.. I forgot the time but I remember one time we went the plane landed in Orlando about 1 hr after the sun came up...

We usually take a flight between 8:00-9:00. We talked about the earlier flights but dh doesn't think it's necessary to go earlier. :confused3 However, even when getting to MCO before lunch, by the time we get to the hotel, get to a park and start the trip, we are all fairly tired and barely make it through Fireworks. As a matter of fact, last time, dh wound up feeling nauseous from being too tired. This time we are driving but have parkhoppers for 7 days...not including first day or last. I learned from these boards :earsboy: that it doesn't cost very much to add days 8 & 9 to the tkts but dh doesn't want to do that. He wants to go to the pool, get a nice dinner and relax.

In the past we have always taken the last flight out of Philly on Friday night. We work on Friday and get a cheap room for Friday night. This year we decied to try the first flight on Saturday morning(6:30 am), we will see how we like that. I am a little worried about our early wake up, but hope that the adrinaline will keep me going on Saturday. We are staying at the BCV, and I never expect to get into a DVC room early, but it does happen occasionally.

Our flight home is also the first one out (7:30 am Sunday morning) because it was so much cheaper than a late flight on Saturday night. So, I booked a night a POP and it was still cheaper than the late flight home would have been! :cool1:

We are using Magical express for both trips to/from airport.

We are taking a "red eye" leaving the west coast at 11pm,
there is a plane switch, ultimately arriving at MCO at 9 am ish
EDT. I figure we will be at our resort about 11-11:30 am. So,
no, I don't think you are too early..sounds like you will be
settled in about the same time we are! :goodvibes

I always take the absolute earliest flight possible. I know I'm not going to sleep much the night before anyway, so I might as well be on my way to WDW. I live about 90 minutes from the airport, so when I have to be there for a 6:30 flight I have to leave by 3:30/4, and I'm at WDW and in a park by noon.

It depends on your family - but personally I love it!

N.E.D.

I usually take the earliest flight also - it just makes your trip so much better. I figure the sooner we get there - the sooner we can go to MGM! Our flight leaves at 755 am and I can't wait!!!

I think it's too freakin early, but I take public transportation to the airport and it doesn't start running in time to catch such an early flight.

I am generally closing out PI at night and actually have trouble doing that if I've been up since 4 AM.

I like flights that leave around noon. Sometimes, I leave on a 7 PM flight after work.
