Do you think a 7:20AM flight to come to orlando is too early?

We drove an hour and a half before our 6:45am flight to Orlando Sanford, we were at Disney by noon and at Epcot by 2pm. Now, it was late EMH that night but we weren't quite up to staying there past Illuminations. I guess I'd still rather do that than get there in the evening and spend money on a hotel when I wouldn't get to do much. :confused3

We take that same flight on SWA from BWI. We took it in Dec. and got to the Polynesian around 10:30am and had a nice b-fast at Kona. There was only 25 people on the flight- everyone had A tickets!! The flight attendant said everyone could have their own row and stretch out. It was great!!

I like to fly in early and spend the bulk of the first day settling in and relaxing. Might as well make your WDW vacation as LONG as possible! :goodvibes

Last trip our plane arrived in Orlando at 1:30pm, we used a towncar service and were at MGM by 3:30pm. The towncar service really made a difference, it was there when we arrived we didn't have to drop off any other guests and
we even made a grocery stop and still got to the hotel by 2:15pm, no lines at check-in, got our rooms, dropped our luggage in our rooms and we were out of there!

I personally hate really early flights, I am just too darn tired to enjoy the rest of the day and alot of times am still catching up a little the next day too. I am a serious night owl though so that is part of it too.

Flight out of detroit at 7:20 am, left house for airport at 4:20 am in a blizzard. Arrived at MCO at 10:00 am, to hotel by noon, in parks by 2pm.

We like taking the 11:00pm flight out of Las Vegas which arrives in Orlando at 7:00 am. (Direct flight, but 3 hour time difference) We have three DDs (who are now 6,9 and 13) and this is their favorite flight as well. We all sleep a little on the plane, drop off baggage at hotel and head straight for the parks. (We have been lucky all 6 times we've done this and have been able to get our room by 9:00 a.m-- but would do it anyway if our room wasn't available-- ) The kids are so excited about being in WDW that they go until about dinner. We eat and go to bed early. That way we wake up early the next morning and are on Florida time!

Our flight leaves at 7:10am, arriving at MCO at 10:02am. This will be the morning after our Wedding! Even though there is a good chance we will be tired, we both decided we would rather get there sooner than later that first day!! :goodvibes

DS13 & I have a 7am flight out of Hartford this Aug. We'll need to get up about 4/430am to get to the airport ahead of time.
We'll get to MCO about 945am

We're leaving here on a Sat, not planning on a park until Tues We should be rested by then! - lol

Only if it were the return flight home! I'm actually taking SW 1st flight of the day out of BWI in July, 6:10a.m., arriving at 8:20. We'll be jazzed about being there, pick up our car rental and head straight for the parks. We're always full of excited energy the 1st day of Disney, no matter what time we've gotten up! Besides I can't sleep well on Disney Eve anyway!

We were going to take that same flight. We are staying with parents 5 mins. from the airport too. But we decided with two children ages 2 and 4 to take the 12:30 flight. Just decided, with the help of the boards, that getting two kids ready and through the airport that early was too much. And then if our room wasn't ready we'd have two, counting us four, cranky campers to deal with. We are going for a week so we decided to go to not do a park that day. Instead get checked in, relax, go to the grocery store, and do Chef Mickeys. Then we'll hit the parks early on Sunday. Good luck, I know I won't be sleeping the night before anyway, so it doesn't matter what time the flight is, to me.

To early? No way. We are booked on a 6:30 a.m. flight out of LGA! Our thoughts are we will be to excited to sleep anyway so lets make the most out of the whole day as possible!

FYI, we took a 7:15 direct from Hartford, Tiffany Towncar was right there waiting at luggage pickup (good service), and we were at the Poly. before 11 AM. We weren't all that tired, but had always planned to enjoy the 1st day exploring the hotel and riding the monorail around -- 1st trip, lots to explore. We had lots of magic on this trip, including our room being ready, so we had even less reason to hit the parks.

This sounds similar to what I am expecting in 8 days. We have a 6:30 AM flight out of Boston's Logan Airport (we can get there in 15 minutes from home). The limousine will hopefully be there waiting for us when we land @ 9:30AM. Then it's off to the Polynesian for a quick concierge check-in before we run over to a PS at the Princess Storybook Lunch in Norway!

We also have a 7:20 flight from Baltimore and I am so excited. The earlier we get there, the better. We are flying down on a Wed. which is MK EEMH, so we can go back take a little nap and be back in the park for more fun! Hope it works out well for you!

LOL it sounds like the consensus on this thread is GET TO WDW ASAP, early flight, drop off the bags and off to the parks you go. I totally get it! :goodvibes

Our flight leaves @ 5:35 am on Sunday! We will be up at 3:45/4 am and leave @ 4:30. The airport is only 10 mins down the road!!!
We get in @ 9:32 am @ MCO!

We'll be on the 7:20 flight from BWI in about 2 weeks. I hope we have the same luck as you Ilovestitch...I would love to have only 25 people on our flight! I've actually changed our flight 4 times~~every time an earlier time would have availability I'd grab it!! :teeth:

Hi!

Our flight is at 6:00am - we'll be in Orlando at 9am which means we have a nice relaxing first day at MK. Who can sleep the night before...might as well get up and go! :moped:

Please throw some of that Pixie Dust our way !!!!!
We are flying out of Philly @ 7:25 am. Plan to be there @ 5:30a just in case, which means a 4:30 start from the house. I do have a stretch limo picking us up though!!! (Shhhhhh......DW and 2 DSs don't know). The other (hopefully) good thing is that we are flying into Tampa. Lands @ 9:30. rental car by ten, @ WL by noon (with a grocery stop). I sure hope we get to stretch out on the flight, like you did !!!

On the return, we are maximizing it too. We're at HRH the last 4 nights, and we'll stay late at the park and dirve to Tampa airport, getting there ~11 pm. Will drop off the car at that time. Have a room at the Marriott in the airport (thank you Marriott rewards), and an 8am flight the next morning.

Finally,
I'm taking three additional days off after the vacation.....to recover from the vacation !!!

We always take an early flight-usually by 7am to MCO. We are usually arriving around 9ish. By the time we get to our hotel, checkin, it is a great time to head to the parks. :)
