Do you style your hair & wear make-up while on your WDW vacation?

Ponytail, mascara, my moisturizer is SPF15, lip balm and THAT'S IT! I do pack makeup for nice dinners out but that's it. I don't wear much makeup at home so I'm not going to wear it on vacation. ;)

ponytail, sunscreen and chapstick and thats about it for me, My hair is down to my waist and there is no way I am hot rollering it on vacation

I usually do the same thing I do at home. I always like to look good. And when I look good, I feel good. I do try to speed up my routine a few minutes.

Same here - especially with DH and the kids harping on me - "are you ready to go yet?" Are you ready to go YET!!??", I try to speed it up AND get up a bit earlier! I hate nothing worse than feeling, or being, rushed! :headache:

But... I do full hair, if not better than a work day, and full make up (foundation powder, blush, eye liner & shadow and mascara with some tinted lip gloss. I try with the hair to shower at night and put in hot rollers while doing makeup or just a big fat curling iron then an updo for the day as it air dried over night. Although after our last trip to WDW I felt like I took longer than what I would have wanted getting ready, so I chopped my hair - was to mid back, now at shoulders! A huge time saver! :dance3:

Ya know... its nice to look back on all those nice WDW pictures and be happy with what you see. We all know those pictures from long ago come back to haunt us 10+ years down the line, NO matter how hard we try not to say (or hear the kids say), "What was I thinking with that Hair-do"?? I am usually just glad if I take a picture and my eyes are OPEN!

I ride all the thrill rides with the exception of Splash Mountain or any other ride involving water (water is death to my hair-do). And you are right - the key is hairspray - lots of it. I can get off RNRC or Space Mountain and my hair looks exactly the same as it did getting on. My Disney hair could probably survive a nuclear blast right along with the cockroaches. :rotfl2:

Are we related??? I am a hairspray junkie and proud of it!! :cool2:

Add me to this list - I would be LOST w/o my beloved Hairspray!! :scared:

If you call slapping on some lip gloss (with an spf) and yanking my hair back into a pony-tail "doing" my hair and makeup, then yes I do!;) My hair is so fine that even if I were to style it, you couldn't tell an hour later, with all the heat and humidity in Florida. I do make an attempt to look more pulled together if we are going to dinner at someplace like the Grand Floridian. But otherwise, forget it. Too much to do and too little time to do it in to waste my time putting on a full face of makeup.

My hair's going to frizz down there no matter what I do, so I usually just make sure I have it cut into an easy wash and go style the day before we leave for Florida.

As far as make up, several years ago I had lip liner, lip color, and eyeliner permanently tatooed on, so that's taken care of. Unfortunately my cheeks are naturally ruddy. I use a tinted moisturizer and maybe some Bare Minerals foundation and neutral mineral eyeshadows, may or may not use mascara (I have fair skin, but dark lashes and brows), and then carry a little flavored clear lip gloss. I can be dressed and out of the room in less than 10 minutes, if you're just counting hair and make up. I do spend more time making sure I'm covered in sunscreen and making sure I have bodyglide applied to inner thighs and feet.

I don't usually wear a lot of makeup, but I do not see the light of a Disney day without my eyeliner, mascara and a swipe of Mary Kay Mocha Freeze on the lips. I just brush my long hair, throw a barette in to keep it off the face, and I'm ready to mingle with the characters at WDW...and, like an earlier poster said: when those pictures come back, I want to be pleased with what I see. :hippie:

I couldn't imagine wearing a full face of makeup at WDW. I pull my hair back in a ponytail or with clips (depending on how long it is at the time) and on my face I use my moistturizer and lip balm. That's it. I tried to "do" my hair once, and it was a limp mess by mid-morning.

This going to sound strange but my hair actually comes out nice in WDW. It's wavy but doesn't really get frizzy. I do style it but end up either ponytailing or putting it in a clip. I wear a little eyeliner, sunscreen and lip gloss.

I have curly hair, so I usually put it up and wear a hat since after I get off any rides it's a giant afro anyway, lol. As far as makeup, I don't wear it at home, (our humidity here is just as bad as WDW, we're not that far away) so I don't wear it there either. Makes for a quick morning routine!

What is body glide?

I am wondering too? I have never heard of it.

It's an antichafing balm that comes in a stick like deodorant. It's great on the inner thighs to prevent chafing and on the feet to prevent blisters. One application is the morning is all you need. I spend more time applying Body Glide and sunscreen than I do make up.

Where do you buy it ?:confused3

On vacation, I typically spend more time on my hair/makeup than I do at home.

For one, I like to look nice, and as a SAHM, I don't normally have the opportunity to get "made up" everyday. It is really nice to take that week and (for the most part) look special for my DH all week. I consider it an opportunity to pamper myself!

Don't get me wrong - it's not like I'm spending an hour primping (except for one or two special evenings) - but even if my hair is in a ponytail because of the heat, I curl it first. As far as makeup - I keep it light b/c of the heat/humidity, but don't skimp on the "extras" like smudge-proof eyeliner or waterproof mascara - the little bits that get "skipped" in the day-to-day at home.

Plus, it is nice looking back at all the pictures and feeling good about how I looked (perhaps a little vain, but we are all entitled to our weaknesses, right?) :-)
