Do you still live in the town/state where you grew up?

I was born and raised in CT, and have always lived here with the exception of one year after college when I lived in Mass. I know a lot of people want to get out of their hometown, or jobs, etc. take you to places far away. I could never move far from my parents and siblings though. So how about you, how did you end up where you are?

I grew up a mile from where I am now.

I was born in Alabama, lived in Georgia since I was 3 days old. I currently live 32 miles from where I grew up-still in Georgia.

I was born and raised in Columbia South Carolina. I moved away when I was 21 to join DH in Alaska. We had just married one month before I moved. We lived in Alaska for 3 years and his next tour of duty brought us here to FL. We've lived here for 8 years and I think this is where we're going to stay. :p

I live in the same state as I was born, but about 100 miles away from the town I was born in.

I live in the same state, but have travelled from the N.W. corner to the S.E. corner.

Nope. I was born in NJ and moved to the great state of TN when I was 10. Been here ever since. :)

Native Texan here. I grew up in Houston, but I got away from there as soon as I could. ;) :teeth:

I'm Rhode Island born,
and I'm Rhode Island bred,
and when I die I'll be Rhode Island dead

Don't laugh, that's the fight song for the University of Rhode Island and I'm also a proud alumnus.

Actually, the long term goal for DH & me is to end up in Florida while we're still young enough to enjoy it. His parents live behind Sea World right now so we have something to aspire to.

Still in the same state, but not the same town. I grew up about an hour southeast of here. All of my family and most of DH's family still live in that town. I came to Baton Rouge when I started college in 1996 and DH moved here in 1998. I DO NOT plan on going back "home." It's too small...nothing there. My mom really wants us to move back (I'm an only child and my parents are divorced), but I'm definately not moving back "home."

DH and I have considered moving to Texas when he finishes school since he'd get paid better there (he's a music education major), but I know my mom would be so upset.

I was born in northern Kansas, about 12 miles from the Nebraska border. I now live in southern Kansas, about 30 miles from the Oklahoma border. I live 180 miles south of where I was born and spent the first 5 years of my life. I did live in Idaho for a year after college.

I have lived in two houses!
The one I grew up in and 7 miles away the one we moved into when DW and I were married!
Our children went to the same grade school and high school I did.
I am not opposed to moving just haven't found the right opportunity.

Steve

Both my DH and I were born and raised in CT (Hamden) and now reside in Wallingford.

I cannot picture us moving any time soon . . .although I've always considered either moving up North to Maine or Vermont or maybe down South in Florida . . .(hmmmm maybe work for WDW after retirement?):p

If you can't stand the heat..... ;)

I live in the same state - Texas. :)

No matter where I end up - even if someday I become a Yankee - I want to be buried here in Texas. :)

I am 70 miles from where I grew up, but DH is about 300+ miles from where he grew up. We may move someday, but happy now:D

Houston is actually a nice place, it's just toooooo big and congested for me. :)

I currently live in the house I grew up in and now own half of it. Although I've dreamed of moving to a warmer climate, I've never seriously considered it - most of my family lives in this area.
