I'm an early bird! Even when on vacation with just my hubby in the Caribbean, I wake up at 7am SHARP. Just can't help it! That's the time my little human alarm clock wakes me up everyday. (she's 17 months old) When we were at WDW in Sept, we'd all be up and out by 9am to eat. No sleeping in for me!
For the first few days we're up bright and early - 6am or so. But by morning 5 or 6, we'll usually sleep in until about 8am. The late nights start to get to me. I'm normally in bed no later than 9 or 10pm.
Early riser here. This is one of the nice things about the 2BR units. I can get up at my usual 6am, and muck about in the kitchen without disturbing anyone. DW and kids would sleep til noon if I let then... I don't
Most of the time no - I'm an early morning person. That's the beauty of the DVC one bedroom for us. I can make myself a cup of tea and read or watch tv while DH is still sleeping.
I did vote occasionally thought. For example last May when we went to Member Homecoming a few of the events were late night ones. We slept late the day after those to recharge for that night.
We don't use the alarm clock when we are on vacation. We wake up when we wake up and don't care whether it's 6 a.m. or noon. Our whole purpose of taking a trip is rest and relaxation. Of course, a lot of this attitude comes from the fact that we've been to WDW many times. It might be a different situation if it was our first visit or we only had three or four days vs. a whole week or more.
It really depends on where we are. At WDW we don't tend to sleep in, got to get the the parks while the lines are short. You know that comerical where the kids can't sleep becuase they are too excited to be going to WDW, then you see the parents who can't. That is us. We are so excited to be there we are up and going. It does cacth up with you after a few days (we go to water park that day.)
At the beach we sleep in and then hit the beach arond 10:00 or 11:00 or when ever we get pack and ready.
I'm with Stimpy. We have a 1 and 3 year old and unfortunately, sleeping in is not an option. Maybe that's why we love WDW. Its one of the few vacation places where there is actually plenty to do at 8:00 in the morning.
depends upon what you call sleeping in.........we are up at 7:30 at WDW ususally and that is late for us.........we usually rise at 5:30 AM everyday at home............i guess it is all relative
I am hyper to sleep late in WDW!! But my DH likes to catch a few more winks on vacation, so I let him. I get up and take a shower first and that usually rouses him a bit. I was up very early this past vacation, around 7, and really didn't want to wake him yet, but it was way too cold to sit on the balcony...So I dragged a chair over to the "foyer" in our studio and had a cup of coffee and read for a bit. I wish they had a chair there all of the time and a reading lamp...Maybe a little table for my coffee!!! LOL
I usually sleep in, but not as much as I wish I could. On a workday, I'm out the door well before 8am. At WDW, I usually roll out of bed around 8:30am (if the family feels generous) and leave the room between 9-9:30am.
I'm a "night person" by nature, so it's tough to get into bed before Midnight (it's usually after 1am) even after a busy day at Disney. It would probably feel more like a vacation if I could sleep until 9-10am.
When we stayed at BWV last month, the first boat horn at 8:00am woke me up everyday. I usually get up at 6:00, so that is definitely sleeping in. I also don't go to sleep until after midnight, which is later too. Before DVC, when I'm with my mom, we probably did get up earlier to hit the parks early, but now it's a different kind of vacation, no park commando. We usually take our time and leave about 10:00-11:00, after having breakfast in the room. When I'm with my friends, we set a wakeup call for about 6:00am and are out around 8:00.
We sleep in almost every day, so I voted "always", though we do get up a little earlier if we are going to Busch Gardens in Tampa or something like that.
Otherwise, we get up when we wake up without an alarm...usually about 8:00 a.m. Our teenagers, on the other hand, tend to get up around 9:00 - 10:00. That gives DW and I a chance for a morning walk or a workout.
