Does anyone re-confirm resort ressies before departure?

I am leaving Friday and have never called to re-confirm but I saw where someone said to do this. Any opinions?

We're checking into POP on Friday :Pinkbounc and I called today to reconfirm things. I called last week and went over all of my PS, just to be sure i's were dotted and t's crossed. Where are you staying?

Yep, I sure do.

I re-confirm everything - flights, limos, resort, dining arrangements. Just to be safe!

::yes:: I sure do! I have had times in the past where some thing was a little off. Can't have any problems on this dream trip princess: I have confirmed everything, air, car, rooms (staying at three different resort on property). I did not confirm the ps's as we are staying CL at AKL, I figure they have it right.

Have a Super Great Trip!

We always confirm everything
Flights, hotel and room requests, PS,s car rental return flights. I hate last minute surprises, at least of the unwelcome sort.

Have a great trip

I reconfirmed just this morning room only though. I figure if they give me a room surely they'll feed me.LOL :) Can't Wait it's our first trip and on property we are so excited.

Speaking as a front desk agent from a hotel, it's a very good idea to do so.

Things happen. Computers go down, people make errors and cancel or delete the wrong reservation, etc.

Calling to make sure your reservation is still there is always a good idea.

I go on the Disney web site at least twice a week to check on my reservation. And I will be calling them soon to check again and to make a request for a room type.

How do you check on your ressie at the disney website???

I always reconfirm. Better to be safe than sorry! Worse case scenario happened with our hockey team last season. I called to reconfirm reservations for 14 rooms for our team and they were missing 5 of them! It was all straightened out on the phone, but due to the fact I tend to arrive last as I try not to take work off it was a good thing I called before the rest of the team arrived!

In this day and age of declining customer service and quality focus...without a doubt, yes.

You should validate most of your reservations almost the same day to ensure the individual of the other end entered everything in the system correctly. This ensures you get that special price or impossible to get reservation now, verus trying to get it later when there isn't a chance unless there is a cancellation.

Close to your departure you want to check on one time to ensure nothing has happened to your reservations. Especially your ground transfers...it sort of reminds them you are coming and you get updated on were they will meet you at the airport. Too many stories where Limo drivers never showed up...

Register on the disneyworld.com web site. You will be able to check on your reservation from that point on from the My Vacation button on the top right of the main page. Just log in. On the left, you can see a list that says My Reservations.

I Joined the site and as soon as I made my ressie, I was able to access it at any point. You can also make online payments with your credit card this way and it will show your total paid and amount you still owe. It's made things very easy for my fiance and I.

The only thing is, if you need to change your ressie, you will still have to talk to a disney rep.

Thanks for the info...unfortunatley it won't let me view my ressie....just says unable to display

That happens sometimes. I'm not sure why. It usually happens late at night though.

Try again later and see.

I always confirm everything prior to leaving---it is not worth the stress of trying to solve a crisis once you have arrived in the happy place.

I think once you have made any alteration to an original ressie, you can no longer view it online. I have not been able to view mine since I applied to the AP code.

We changed our ressie also with a code, and now are no longer able to view it on line. Says it's "cancelled". Yikes! I called immediately, and they have everything correct in their system. Told me we wouldn't be able to view on line. I guess if it is correct in their computer, they will let me stay at the BC!

DH called the other night to make a slight change in our reservations at Pop for the end of October (we want to go a day earlier than originally planned in order to see Three Dog Night).

This trip had originally been rescheduled from last weekend--we had cancelled due to the hurricane (ended up going anyway and staying at the Dolphin).

Turns out, even though we had just received a printed confirmation by mail, that our reservation had been CANCELLED in error.

All's well that ends well, and we were able to get an even cheaper rate than we had originally (thanks to a code posted on this board). But after this experience, I would say it's important to reconfirm!

I have re-confirmed flight, rental car, and hotel. All is good! I noticed last night when double checking my rental car the the rate has almost doubled! Not sure if it's just a rate hike or if you wait until the last minute they charge more, but it made me very happy that I had reserved when I did. And I noticed our flight is just about full---there are a few single seats here and there. Oh, and when I called the airlines it gave me the chance to ask about curb side check in and about wait times to get through security and such.

I have not called to reconfirm our PS arrangements, but I do NEED to call and talk with the chef at Coral Reef since my ds has allergies.

We always confirm resort, PS, air and rental car before we leave.
