Do you go to Disney more for the classic rides (Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, Spaceship Earth etc) or to see the new cutting edge rides (Missions Space, RnR Coaster etc)?

The classics NEVER go away. I do like some of the newer attractions as well.

I will try all the new things, but I have to have Peter Pan and Haunted Mansion.

The classics are what keep me going back, but I enjoy the new ones too. It's especially cool when a new attraction becomes a classic (last ones for me were TOT and Buzz). :earsboy: Soarin' will soon join the list.

We like the classic suff. Some of the new stuff such as splash mt. is great! Some of our favorites are the WEDway people mover and the Carousel Of Progress. I hope COP is opened whe we are there in October.

I really enjoy the classics but will always try the new stuff. I miss some of the old rides that have been replaced like Mr. Toad's Wild ride and Horizons (I think that was the name of it....). The new stuff is good but nothing beats the tried and true! :wizard: The magic of Disney for me is the old classics like Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, Dumbo etc.

I agree totally with what has been said. I love doing the classics but I really enjoy the new technology as well. I would like to see them renovate some of the older rides to make it more up to date. I am not talking about drastic changes just something minor.

its interesting to see the overwhelming resposne to the classics. hopefully disney knows that and will stop tampering with all the stuff we all go back to see and enjoy year after year! believe me i am not spending money to go down there to go on test track!

I love the classics, it's really why I go to Disney, I would never want to trade them in for the new stuff, like if they took out Haunted Mansion to put in some high tech thrill ride, but I do enjoy some of their new stuff and understand the need for Disney to add new things to attract a new generation. I think they've got plenty of room to add some new without effecting the classics. For example, I love RNR and Soarin'. If Disney can expand and put in some new without removing the old classics, I'm all for that.

Classics!!
Most of the new stuff is too "thrill oriented" for me.
It really hurts when they get RID of a classic to put in the "new". Mission Space comes immediately to mind, as well as Test Track.

The classics are always there in our memories, so its the new stuff that keeps us coming back.

I love the classics but like everyone else I am very willing to try the new stuff. The only thing I do not like and I hope the look never comes to WDW is the carnival/Six Flags look of Disney's California Adventure. Don't get me wrong I bet it's loads of fun but the look to me is alittle cheesy and not very Disney-like. No flames please ::MickeyMo

I like it all!! I do miss 20,000 Leagues though! and I will definitely miss COP!

I'm a "classics" girl myself, I like the slow-moving "story" type rides. I will try most new attractions but the ones like Mission Space, I'm afraid to try, because I'm prone to motion sickness anyways. So with Horizons being gone, that's one less ride for me. PS...DH loved Mission Space though, he just had to go alone - I went shopping! :goodvibes

I prefer the classics. Many of the newer attractions are thrill rides and I don't care for those. I go to Disney for the attention to detail, innovation and creativity and while I don't mind the parks adding a few thrills for those who like that, I hate to see them taking out classics and replacing them with thrills. That to me changes the character and atmosphere of the parks.

::yes:: I totally agree with you. While I love some of the newer rides, what I get excited about when going to Disney are the classics. A trip to Disney isn't a trip to Disney without a ride on Peter Pan and COP. I don't know what I'll do if they decide to get rid of any of these classics. When they were talking about redoing Spaceship Earth into some sort of roller coaster I seriously considered getting the Dis together to chain ourselves to it. That might have to be what we start doing!!! :rotfl:

20,000 is, along with Horizons, my most missed attraction. I keep praying that WDW will announce the rebuilding of 20,000 Leagues with new animatronics. But I doubt that will happen.
