Do you pay attebtiont to peropls user names and remember their pots?

Me too..and those that give out lots of family personal info, or have an over abundance of drama usually stick in my mind, although not in a good way LOL.

There was a poster who lived in the south and was going through a horrendus custody battle, she always said the "good 'ol boy " network was working against her.....


And does anyone remember the poster who's little boy was killed in a car accident right after they got back from Disney? He was a gorgeous little boy, his name was Levi and her name was Alicia. They went back a year or so later, and a lot of Dis'ers made outfits for her daughter. I haven't seen her around lately, and I wonder how they're doing....

I tend to recognize people from their signature or tags. I don't read usernames too much.

I pay attention enough to know that there are some people on here that when I see their name on a thread I tend to read them so I can have a laugh. because I know they're going to post something asinine. There are also people on here who seem to be really funny and nice so I always read their threads as well.

Mostly I just read what looks interesting and sometimes I read a post and go what a loser/nutjob/total and complete utter moron, THEN look at the poster's name and go Oh well that explains it.

I definitely recognize posters by their pictures. I appreciate it when they keep them the same, like DawnCT. But I personally like to change mine up so I'm not helping anyone.

I tend to remember posters more if they are nice to me, rather than those I disagree or argue with. I just don't hold anything against anyone.

Every once in a while I'll remember a poster I haven't seen in a while. Like RickinNYC or AllyandJack or ChrisandSteph (I hope I got those right!). Wonder what those guys and gals are up to?

I always recogzize your little girl. Although she and another poster's daughter are very similar looking, and sometimes I see the other little girl but the 'voice' of the post is different and I have to take a second look. I also remember you're the Bonnett Creek thread.

No, Flat Sharon did the trip report. I just took her to WDW with me and then couldn't get her to shut her mouth about the trip.

I've been around for quite some time and I do tend to remember people by their poster names and also their signature pictures etc.

Not really! I know some of the regulars names but if you asked me what they posted on any particular subject, I would have no clue. Unless something was mentioned to trigger my memory or I know them some other way due to a different connection (like a clique thread).

Then people go and change the pictures and I'm clueless again.

Of course, I'm also the person who could literally bump into a celebrity and have no idea they were a celebrity. I would either not even know them or just assume it was someone who LOOKED like the celeb....so there you have it. I'm basically an airhead. LOL!!!!

that was Mulan and she is no longer on the Dis.

And Kathy is right. I've seen her on the creative board.

Yep some stand out more than others, some for not very polite reasons. Some boards or subjects post I pay more attention to the responses because I know certain posters are more knowledgeable on the subject at hand.

Well, ok, so I admit it is probably time for me to get a life and some real friends! I recognize every one of your names and I know who you are talking about when you mention C. Ann and Tina. I recognize a slew more names too. Too many to mention. Hadley, FWIW you stand out to me as one of the most diplomatic people on these boards. I have seen you disagree with people and I always like your approach. You use phrases like "help me understand your viewpoint". If only everybody would use differing viewpoints as an opportunity to learn and broaden their horizons.....

I just wanted to thank you for posting this It is such a nice thing to say (certainly the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me on the DIS) I really do like to try to understand where other people are coming from and why they feel how they do. Someone else posted they remember me because we live in Germany--maybe part of why I enjoy living in other cultures is that i DO want to know others' motivations and I truly do not assume that just disagreeing with me makes someone wrong or bad (on the other hand--I will press for a "real" reason if I think they are wrong). Anyway, it was a very kind post--thank you

I remember quite a few. Most because they are funny and seem like nice, interesting people, a few because they post ridiculous amounts of stuff about their lives, a few because they are not so nice, and a few because they have a hardship that I sympathize with.

The reason I ask is there was a poster that was super inflamatory and gave a lot of personal information but has been missing for months. I am not gonna lie, I lived for her postings. It was better then any reality show drama. I got really caught up in her and then had to quit cold turkey I have wondered if the mods finally found a reason to ban her. If you were on alot this past spring you will know exactly who I am talking about.

I know who you are talking about, but I'm totally forgetting her name right now. My little girl use to say that was her when she'd see her daughter's picture on the computer. I love that you associate me with BC - I'm glad more people are becoming aware of it!

I don't know who you're talking about, but yes people can be banned and several people have been banned.

I do remember posters who have neat stories or if I interact with them in a private message for something. But, those that really are argumentative or are just jerks, I block them.

And I promise to go back now and read what everyone else has said.
