i'm a compulsive over packer and i'm trying to figure out a list of stuff to bring

how many shirts, shorts, plus other thing we may need on vacation.

we're planning a 3 week vacation in total (2 at disney and 1 with dh family) and don't want to underpack or overpack.

what do you guys pack?

What type of unit are you staying in? You will need to pack more if you are staying in a studio (with no w/d) than if you have a one or two bedroom.

mmm, I would have to say yes. It is your home away from home, so the difference would be. Coffee, there is a coffee maker and I prefer my own brand, so I always pack that. Any other 'homie' type things you might want. They are luxurious, so most is supplied it is just that while you living in luxury but still have the feel of home, you just want to have those things.
Oh, here's one, but I pack that whenever I travel, liquid hand soap!!! Sorry but, regular handwashing I don't like a mushy soggy bar of soap:confused3. You can order groceries to have staples ie oj, drinks, snacks etc. they give you the fridge, you may as well use it:thumbsup2.

Well now that we have Owners' Locker, we barely pack!!

Before Owners' Locker (BOL) we packed slightly differnt, but that's only because we are 1br+ people. We know we have a washer/dryer. If we were to get a studio, and BOL, we would pack exactly the same as any other trip. :smokin:

Probably so.... we know exactly what DVC is going to give us so we pack pretty lite when when are heading there.

We pack differently in that we don't have to bring tons of clothes for longer trips because we have the washer and dryer. We like the toiletries they leave except I too bring or buy pump hand soap. I am not into the soggy bars either. We also do a grocery stop on the way in. I have also come to realize that if we forget something.....you can get most anything at WDW...of course it might come with a pricey tag but it is not the end of hte world. I used to OVER PACK for trips but now with DVC I feel I do much better. It is a vacation home and is just seems that we don't need to bring/buy as much.

We bring half as many clothes and do a wash half way through (more if doing a 3 week vacation). Maybe a few kitchen items. Favorite tea, ziplock bags, etc.

I pack WAY less clothing because I know I will have a washer/dryer. Even if I am staying in a studio, I know there is a free W/D in the building. Most of the time, I have a 1 or 2BR villa. I bring my own laundry detergent and fabric sheets if I remember - it makes it easier and the little boxes are expensive especially considering they aren't my regular brand!!!

I'm leaving Sunday for a week at WDW. I'll pack two "nice" outfits - capri pants and a top. One "nice" colder weather outfit - black pants and a top with long sleeves. Three or four T-shirts and a couple of pairs of shorts. Then regular underwear and socks - I do like to have extras of those in case I forget to put them in the dryer the night before!! A couple of nightgowns, a bathing suit, and an extra pair of shoes - one casual and one tennis shoes. That and the basic toiletries are all I take. Oh, and my Mickey Mouse sweatshirt/jacket - I only wear it at WDW, but it's the perfect weight for a cool but not cold night.

I'll have 2 14 year old girls with me, so we will generate enough laundry to do a load every night. If I gather all the dirty clothes when we change for bed I can wash them and usually get them in the dryer before I fall asleep. If not, I'll do it first thing in the morning. I LOVE the W/D -- it (and the big tub) makes things so much easier!!!

I'm a compulsive packer so I usually bring far too many clothes. I can never decide what I may wish to wear on a given day.

Pretty much the only extra things we pack for a DVC or timeshare stay is the extra laundry soap. If we drive down, we also bring a myriad of creature comforts like coffee, tea, salt & pepper, etc.

Oh and I always bring liquid soap with me. I hate bar soap.

I was (still am to some exent) an over packer. Knowing we have a washer & dryer in our room helps me to pack a few less clothes (but still I pack too many). We decided to get an owner's locker, so I am hoping that will help me to cut down on the little things I always feel the need to pack (first aid kits, finger nail clippers, the list is endless). Plus, with a baby there seems to be so many extras that I think I need.

So, since we bought DVC I pack less, but I know I still pack more than I really need to, but I am slowly working on changing that.

For me, one of the most important things I pack when going to Disney World are my most comfortable shoes. That make a huge impact on my trip. And since we usually go in January, I try to find the right balance of shorts/capris/pants. I usually take at least one pair of each (more like two) and then we do laundry halfway through the trip. I also have a running list of things such as coffee, tea, sugar, cheap ponchos for Kali River Rapids, etc... to use in the villas since I prefer having my favorites. I only do this for Disney. I always start packing early because that is part of the excitement.

It depends on the time of year, but we usually pack as light as possible and use the washer and dryer in the room more often. Where I tend to overpack is in the shoe and bathroom department! I have a hard time keeping my toiletries to a minimum, and I always take too many shoes!

I tend to overpack anyway but I still think I bring less clothing now than I did before. We do bring our own coffee, extra laundry detergent (who would have thought that doing laundry while on vacation would make me so happy!! ) and any dry goods that are easy to pack (i.e snacks for the kids, their favorite cereal). I love the idea of the Owner's Locker but right now we only go once a year so I don't know if it would be worth it to us.

If I am staying in a unit with a washer/dryer, I pack half the amount of clothes of the number of days I am going to be there.

In other words, if I am going to be there for 8 days, I pack 4 days worth of clothes. It doesn't bother me to throw laundry in while I am there, especially if it is right in the room.
