Yes, handguns, rifles, and shotguns. Always had them around growing up too. My husband and I both have concealed carry permits. My husband usually has his with him all the time. I never carry mine.
When I married DH, he 'came with' some shotguns. His family is from the west where it is more customary to own shotguns and rifles. His parents owned a farm and shotguns were necessary to kill predators. DH used to skeet shoot with a friend. DH's eyesight is no longer good enough for him to shoot, so he has disposed of most (but not all) of his shotguns. I think it is mainly nostalgia for him.
DH and I have some and both our girls repeatedly get the "if you see a gun, don't touch and tell and adult" speech. So far they have shown zero interest in them.
Yes. There is a handgun, 2 shotguns and a rifle. My husband is a hunter as well.
Kids know about the guns. DS 15 has been ttaught to use and shoot the gun from a young age. They both know all about gun safety. We have never had an issue with "curious" m inds. They know that guns need to be respected.
Only if you are a kindergartner in Mount Carmel, PA
Yes I own several guns, getting ready to buy a new high powered rifle for hunting and a handgun, I know I'm going to be listed now as one of the gun nuts rushing to buy my guns, but had planned on doing this last summer. All guns locked and secured like they should be.
DH has several. I enjoy shooting but don't have a gun of my own yet. Probably will eventually. DH has his concealed permit, but I don't really care to do that. He carries all the time, and if he can't he feels naked without it. He is a hunter, and enjoys just target practicing too. He's made a nice target range at our place up north.
Are you sure you have enough to hold the Zombie horde off until those with reservation show up to bunker down with you and ride out the Zombie apocalypse.
We own several. Growing up my father was a big hunter. He still has his guns at the house. My DH and sons hunt and own several different types. No assualt rifles. DS13 also does shooting sports for 4H, so we have the stuff for that. they were taught very young about guns and gun safety.
No, although I'm in the minority in the area where I live. I very much doubt I'd ever want to own one.
My dad had a couple deer hunting rifles when I was growing up, but I don't remember ever seeing them in the house. He must have either hidden them really well, or kept them off our property. He sold them after going deer hunting once after we moved to GA- said it was too depressing after hunting in WI, MI, and Canada. I guess he thought the deer were too little in the south!!
