:thumbsup2 I do!!

I had a ford minivan, I called VanEssa...she was just such a "classy ride" as one of my daughters' friends described one day, we came up with that name for her.

Then, years ago when I bought my Dyson vacuum (the Animal) I figured since I paid so much for it, it deserved a name. He is James...after his creator.

Then I got my Pacifica. Love it. Named that Jessica.

I got a KitchenAid food processor. Bessie is her name...;)

Anyone??

I have one particular name that I fell in love with so I named a lot of our appliances the same name.

The washing machine's name is wife.
The Dryer's name is wife.
The dish washer is named wife.
The car's name is chauffer wife.
Even the stove is named wife!
I even have a name for our vacuum.....you guessed it....wife.

oooh...I see we have a funny guy...yes, that one WAS hilarious!!!
:lmao::lmao::lmao:

My car is Royota the Toyota (i know not very creative). My dh named our mini-van betty. I have a friend who named her car Dora the explorer. I think it's fun to name things. :)

havent' named appliances but have named a few of the cars. had an expedition, it was called Hoss (like Bonanza Hoss). Now have the volvo, call it Baby. My mom named her car Suzy and before she had a yellow focus that she called Tweetie.

My dishwasher is affectionately called POS. I also called my husband's explorer sport ('00 version) POS. [/sarcasm] ;)

My car is Christine. Named so because she likes to turn the radio on and off and change stations by herself, lock and unlock the doors at random...she used to drop the speedometer to zero while I was driving, but I had a mechanic speak to her and she stopped...for now. I fear that she is simply biding her time, plotting...

She's possessed.

Mine go by their given names.

Refrigerator
Stove
Washer
Dryer
Car
Truck
Etc.

We tend to do this only for items that have intelligence (even though only programmed intelligence)...
Roomba = Ella (as in Cinder-; lock her in the room and make her clean)

TiVo S3 = Vito (obvious, hopefully)
TiVo S2 = Pio (pretty pathetic name if you ask me)
TiVo S1 = Phil (it's a Philips)

DVD Player = Sammy (it's a Samsung)

Blu-ray Player = Ray (some of these are just too blah)

Home Theater Receiver = Doc (everything is plugged into it)

However, somehow...
Garbage Disposal = Georgina (after George died)

We had a little Chevy Cavalier years ago we called Zippy, because all the other vehicles we have are larger and this little car we could zip around in and out of tight spots real easily. We loved her until someone ran a red light and smashed into it and totaled the car. At least no one was seriously hurt.

I must live a very sheltered life because I have never heard of anyone ever naming appliances. :confused3

Our Magellan GPS was Maggie. Our Garmin GPS that replaced it is Gigi. On occasion we slip and call the GPS Lola (from RV). We justify naming them b/c they speak. We never named our mapquest directions.

We don't name our other items.

I drive Jalopy to work every day.

Now, the gal that doesn't do my housework is the _____ Fairy.

As in, when is the Ironing Fairy going to come and iron all of these clothes? Hey, the Dishwasher Fairy hasn't emptied the dishwasher yet and I know I turned it on two days ago!

I betcha a buck that you don't call ANY of these appliances by the name you've given them in front of your wife. ;)

We name cars, but not appliances.

We have a Pacifica, too. Her name is Magnifica. We used to have a Honda. Her name was Rhonda.

We rent a minivan when we go to WDW. This year, the minivan was Mortimer. Last year, it was Bubba.

I just realized that I lied. We have named one appliance. The garbage disposal is called "Pig".

HA! SILs Roomba is named Rosy (Like on the Jetsons) MIL named hers too, but can't remember the name.

I named my first car Ethyl (It was a '66 mustang and would NOT tolerate Ethynol) I occaionally would call it Christine to freak out friends. (And it totally freaked them out! :lmao:This car DEFINATELY had a personality...and made it known! She was CRANKY! <As often as she died while being driven, *cranky* SHOULD have been her name! :rotfl:>)

My current car is a minivan: a Nissan Quest. It's blinkers/emergency flashers look like little blinking eyes when I unlock it...hence it's name...*Blinky*.

Not household appliances so much, but definitely cars:

My first car was Victoria, called Vicki for short. (Dad's was Elizabeth and Mom's was Anne, so we had the whole queens of England thing going.)

Then after I was married, DH and I had Bitty, which was short for "the Bitty Blue Bullet," because it was such a tiny little thing.

We've also had Atlas (green), Jeeves (black), and "Miss Emily the War Wagon" - our first big vehicle.

We currently have Genny (Short for Genevieve, not Jennifer) and a yet-to-be-named Prius.

We have a conversion van that's named Big Bertha, our others car's are not named.
