have daily envelopes?
I havent decided which way to go this time!

Daily envelopes and then put any leftovers in the next day. Also have Tip envelopes for all tipping situations(other than dining) so I don't dip into my spending money. Worked great for me on my 18 day trip when I really had to see how the cash was holding out.......came home with some!!!

We have envelopes. It works great. I usually have several envelopes for each day:

Mousekeeping
Meals
spending money

When we have a PS I have that written on the front with the date, time and PS number--that way everything, including the money, is all in one spot.

I'd be lost without my envelopes too. I split them up like this:

Mousekeeping per Day
Meals - either vouchers or cash in them
Tips I know I'll need

We're taking the snack budget & 1/2'ing it - each of us get one of the halves to use throughout the week then we split the leftovers for spending money. The bar budget I don't do in envelopes, just use the room card for that.

Our spending money is all separate in the form of DD & travelers checks.

Envelopes!!!!!

We take one per day, based on the budget I worked up for each day, if there is any left over it carries over to the next day....I always figured high and there seemed to always be money carrying over.

1. Spending money...food, t-shirts, ect.
2. Tip money...shuttle bus driver, sky cab, towncar driver, mousekeeping, wait person ect. This envelope has $1.00 and $5.00 bills only.

I always have a coupon for the park and ride. I put the coupon in the glove box along with a $20.00 bill before we leave home. So don't have to worry about having the money when we get back to pay the park and ride.

We usually lump our money and take what we need for the day...
however, this time we are trying the "daily envelopes" route (did them today as a matter of fact).

I never thought about doing separate envelopes for mousekeeping money, I was just going to take it out of our daily budget...now I need more envelopes! :)

Only 14 more days!

We use a rewards credit card for virtually everything at Disney (or at home for that matter) and just pay the bill in full when we get home. Seems a waste to me to pay cash and pass up the reward points. We mainly use a Marriott Visa and earn free hotel stays.

Same here Steve. We have always just used a CC when we are at WDW since it can be used almost everywhere. That way we deal with very little cash.
Yes, you have to have the discipline to pay the bill. But IMHO, you would also have to very disciplined to stick with just using a certain amount of cash per category per day. :)
I like to save money, but am not overly organized , and I think that the envelope thing would drive me CRAZY!
Different strokes for different folks you know. ::yes::

(Did I ever tell you how much I LOVE this - ::yes:: smilie??? )

I take enough cash for stuff that can't be put on the room charge. Usually about $500. The only thing we put in envelopes is mousekeeping tips. The rest of money goes into the safe. I just make sure I carry around $50 a day for anything that might come up like balloons, drinks, snacks, ect.

We're also going to charge everything to our room and have it go to the credit card, but I know how much money we have to spend each day, and that's it. Even though it's going on the cc technically, we won't spend more than we have saved and set aside for this trip. DH or I will carry some cash, but not alot.

We also just use cc. We have the Marriott Visa too so to pass up the points for the next vacation is silly. But, you do pay for it when you get home so you have to try to be very careful with your spending.
Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't! LOL I don't think I could ever do envelopes, I would love it, but I know it would never work for us.

The only envelopes I prepare in advance are for mousekeeping tips and for paying my towncar if I'm using one. Otherwise I use Disney dollars I've squirreled away ahead of time, I have some travelers' checks along in case I need cash, and I charge to the room for some things and pay it off as soon as the bill comes at home. I keep most of the DD and trav. checks in the room safe, only carrying a limited amount at one time.

I make it a habit to over-save for vacations, so that I don't have to watch every cent. But I'm not a big spender anyway, so I always come out fine. (Well, so far anyway...;) )

Love it, Love it, Love it. I love theses boards. YAY

I lump. Everything goes on the room charge and the room charge goes on my Disney rewards card :).

My sister used envelopes last time and it worked really well for her. If you're on a strict budget I suspect that the envelopes will work better than lumping.

We use our Disney Visa Rewards Card first, then use CC and cash. Until we received the Disney Visa we were "cash people". Now I look at it as them paying me.:D

On the whole though, I still like a lump of cash.
