Some days I just want to pick everything up and move to another state!

Just to try it out (not because I dislike my current situation) :thumbsup2 Which brings me to the question do you love your area and do you plan on moving in the next 5-10 years to just try something different? Where too? What type of area are you looking to find?

All my friends are able to stay in the same place and never think about moving. I'm just the complete opposite from everyone I know. Then again I find it hard to keep the same car for 5 + years. I enjoy change.:upsidedow I would move in a heartbeat if It wasn't for my great clients who keep me here. Anybody else ever think about moving around every couple of years "just because"? Maybe two-three more years here and I'll move to South Florida or Texas just to try it out. Heck, I plan on moving to Europe one day. In high school I told myself that I would move around until I found a place I loved. I need to do it before I get even more settled here.

We really lik NC. It has a lot of great perks and plusses. There are many things we love about NC. However, we miss Florida. I wish we could pick up our house and put it in Port St Lucie or Clearwater/St Pete....

We moved to Florida from New York almost six years ago and love it here.

Lots of people LOVE my state (VA). I'm not crazy about it. But now that winter is gone gone, she is growing on me. I will hate her again once freezing temps are back though.

When folks hear I am unhappy--they are surprised because this place is so wonderful. So it must be.

It just isn't my home. Plop it a few degrees south and I would be happier.

(*We also had to move suddenly--so there really was no looking forward to picking out where we would want to move. We had to go where there was a job.)

No, I do not love it here. We will relocate when I retire.

There are a lot of things I love about GA and then some things I dislike. However, for location... we have mountains and ocean, and I love that!

I love my state, yes! I think I can love Florida too though!:rotfl: I'm thinking snow bird has a nice ring to it.:thumbsup2

I live in two states, NY & NJ. I love New York for Broadway and I love New Jersey for the ocean!

I'm the opposite of you, I don't enjoy change for the most part.

I love living in Michigan, can't imagine living anywhere else (full time anyway).

I've always lived in Michigan, same county in fact. I am comfortable here. I like being comfortable. :)

In a few years we plan to start spending a few months during the winter "somewhere warm" but Michigan will always be "home" I'm sure. Especially since our kids and grandkids are here.

I love my State, I'm just not loving those who run it ;)

I live here as well, DF retired military and DM was from here. The winters aren't usually crazy like last winter. but we do have some freaky weather: the year Dd was born, we had a ice/snow storm, then a couple years later, I was wearing shorts for christmas, it was like in the 60's and to me that was warm enough for shorts.

However, I love Hawaii more, just went there once for 7 days, but I felt I belonged there more then I do here. However, DM77 lives with us and that just isn't an option. I will live there one day.

We have lived here 20+ years and I would move tomorrow if I could. Honestly -- tomorrow. I hate it here.

When we moved here, it was after a series of successful moves. Each time, we were able to find and enjoy the positive aspects and make good friends. Heck, we've gone on 2 week group tours and ended up with lifelong friends. So we had every expectation of the same here.

Unfortunately, it did not work out that way. We tried everything that had worked in the past, plus added new techniques. Nothing worked. It was made quite clear to us, over and over, in multiple situations/settings that since we were not "from" here we were outsiders and while our time/money/volunteering was more than wanted (it was EXPECTED), no one had any interest in being friends with us. When we'd ask people to dinner, the movies, to bowling or a baseball game or just to talk at a PTA function, we were told: "We already have all the friends we need. We grew up here, you know. If you want friends, maybe you should move back home. Your home."

Add to that the cold and snow and the fact that it is flat flat flat...

Yeah, I hate it. We NEVER intended to stay here, but a few years after we moved, dh's field contracted and the job losses were severe. We expected they would rebound and under that expectation, I left my profession due to burn out and took a lower-paying job. Subsequently, we realized that we were stuck. And so we remain.

The goal of my life is early retirement. That is all I live for.

Most of the time.

The only time I don't like it is on election days and sundays.

I'm a moderate in a conservative bible belt red state, enough said.

I could move every year and enjoy it. ;) We did pack it up and move to TX to try it out.

DH wanted to come back to MO and retire here, so here we are.

Missouri is pretty good with outdoor stuff to do, which is something I enjoy.

I would rather live on the coasts but I don't have the $ for that so I will settle for the rivers and lakes.

Im a native Southern Californian, and there is no place I would rather live. Unfortunately, Im in Phoenix at the moment..... Damn

Not in love with it. Still better than my "home" of Mass. though. The I-95 corridor of MD has become too Northeast for my liking, despite the fact I was born and raised in the Northeast!

Except for the winters being just a little too long for my liking, I would not want to live anywhere else. To me, we have the best of everything. We live on the coast about 50 miles north of NYC, 100 miles from Boston, with excellent schools, cultural activities, beaches, etc. The trouble is, it's getting (or already is for some) so darn expensive to live here. We've made it this long, however, so we'll be here at least until retirement and then who knows?

I've lived in another country and as much as I adored England and the countryside there, it made me realize there is no place like home.

I LOVE California and I'd never want to leave. I travel, yes, but I live here.

Wow and now I'm curious, where do you live (general area if you don't want to say?)
