DH and I are in the market for a new mattress. We want a king...price limit of about $2000. although if it's less, then even better!

We tried one of those Tempurpedic mattresses and just didn't like it, so we're looking for a more traditional type mattress. We tried one today that we really liked, it was a Simmons Beauty Rest "Williamstown" Pillow Top, for just under $2000 at Jordan's Furniture.

If you love your mattress, tell me all about it! What brand, what style, what price, and where you bought it! Thanks! :cloud9:

If I were you and I don't know where you can try these mattresses except at the Swan or Dolphin hotels at WDW but I think most Westin hotels have them - I would opt for the Heavenly Bed - they do have a website and might fit your price range.

i ll have to ask my brother what his mattress is--it is the MOST COMFORTABLE thing i have ever layed on..i keep begging him to switch with my old mattress

When we got married, 16 years ago, we bought a Serta Perfect Sleeper. It was a great mattress. We still have it DS10 sleeps on it now. When guests stay and they sleep on it they comment on how comfortable it is...even 16 years later. About 4 years ago we bought new bedroom furniture, Queen this time, so we bought the mattress at the same place. Its a Simmons, was expensive, but I don't remember the price, or its name. We are not thrilled. You kind of end up sleeping in a hole, because of how its made. Basically just the area under you depresses, they sell it as a good thing, we disagree. Another thing, it can't be, isn't meant to be flipped, ever. Mattresses are a very personal thing, but we love the Serta and do not love the Simmons. We bought a new mattress for DS7 two years ago, Serta once again.
Good luck!

We have a Stearns and Foster  I believe it is the Cushion Firm or maybe the Firm cushion. When we go on trips and sleep on something else, we can tell the differnce. It is firm, but has just enough cushion but not any give and we have had it for almost 5 years.

a Simmons 'Quintessence' and I am sure they wouldn't make it anymore as it is more than 20 years old and still perfect and THE most comfortable bed I have ever, ever slept on! I look forward when I am away to coming home to it!! :lovestruc

We have a Sleepnumber bed from Select Comfort and we wouldn't trade it for anything. No more back aches and I can adjust my firmness. I'm evenly supported, which is great as I am a side sleeper.

Thanks for asking, I am in the market to get a new bed in the next few weeks and I am wondering the same thing.

Right now we have a full size bed with just your average mattress on it with a memory foam topper. We like the topper.

We are adding on to our house and will have a new master bedroom that will be much bigger so we finally can get a bigger bed. We can't decied between a queen or a king. We will have enough room for a king, but they seem rather big. However both kids always end up cuddling with us in the mornings so bigger can be a very good thing. The full size is way to small right now!

I'm not sure if they make this anymore (2yr old mattress), but we have a Simmons Beautyrest "Burdock" -"Ultra Plush, Plus Super Pillow" mattress (I actually had to go look for the tag). It was more than you want to spend, but if you ask me...it was well worth it. It may have been their top of the line at the time.

I am not kidding when I say I fall asleep in just a few minutes it is so comfortable. In our old bed I would toss and turn to fall asleep. My DW has rheum.arthritis and our old bed was killing her, as she could not get up out of bed...it literally hurt her to sleep. With this bed, it's not a problem.

I laughed at her when she wanted to spend that much on this mattress. Now I see it was well worth it and you get what you pay for. We never have to flip it or turn it. Thank goodness as it weighs a friggin ton. The "super pillow" top never flattens out...and I'm not what you consider light weight. I can go on and on....but it's just a mattress.

I loved the Beauty Rest I had!! I'm dying to dump this one that I've had just over a year and get one. When I bought my bedroom set, the store didn't carry Beauty Rest. I have a Serta or Simmons...It's an "S" thing. HATE IT!!!! Hate it, hate it, hate it! The guy said it's the top of the line firm one, and I hate the thing. Garbage. Won't be buying any mattress in the future that begins with an "S". I WANT MY BEAUTY REST!!!

We have a Sleep Number bed. My DH and I both have back problems and it has helped greatly. We tried 4 others befor we settled on this one.
Good Luck!

another select comfort bed owner here. My DW talked me into it and I havent regretted it since :)

Select Comfort sleep number bed here. Love it! Ours is a queen sized pillow top (series 5000 if that helps) and we paid $1400 for it back in 2003.

I have a Stearns and Foster right now and it's pretty good. For years, I bought Simmon's Beautyrest beds--until the last one. It was terrible and we got "dents" where we lay. The mattress salesman told me that there was a period of time where Simmon's was using a foam overlay and the foam was defective (which causes the dents). Hopefully, they've corrected that by now.

I've had my Stearns and Foster for 2 years now and no dents!

We didn't buy a Tempurpedic, but we bought Sealy's Own Swedish Foam Mattress. We like a "High" Bed and the Tempurpedics were very low.
We Love our Bed, it's about a year old now and I wouldn't trade it.
We are done with Spring Mattresses!!

I have a Sealy Posturepedic Palatial Crest Ultra Plush Luxury series called Ballazza. It is a double quilt (pillow top on both sides of the mattress) top Queen size. I paid around $2,000 a few years ago. This is the best mattress...Im in heaven. The only down side is having to purchase sheet sets that will fit 18 - 21 inch mattress and these can be expensive. I bought 2 sets and each set was $190 but I did get 550 ct Egyptian. After a few nights this bed is worth every penny.

Technically, you do not have to turn or rotate the mattress, but we do anyway.

ETA: This set is "high" compared to a reg set. Im 5' 4" and had to climb onto it. I went and bought the foot stool that matches our bedroom set so problem solved. Also, this set has no uneven spots or anything. Feels just like it did from day one.

I have a bad back and went through several mattress sets before finding one that worked for me. We have a Sealy Posturpedic, not sure which model though. I love it. I am not sore and achy every morning anymore! I'll try to remember to look at the model for you. It is great! It is sort of hard to find sheets though. But it's worth it, it's so comfortable.
