I was just curious for anyone who has stayed at WDW Monorail Resorts or one day after leaving the Magic Kingdom, have you ever decided to ride the WDW monorail all around just for fun? Since my family & I always stay at the Contemporary on days where we plan on just relaxing we sometimes like to ride the Monorail once around the track & get off it when we return to the Contemporary. So anyone else ever do this?

We also ride the monorail just for fun. We get off at every hotel and walk through each gift shop, then hop back on the monorail to continue our ride. This is something we do on every trip. We stay at the cabins in FW or The Wilderness Lodge so we just take the boat over to the Contemporary and start there. :sunny:

Every time we go. I also brought a monorail home with me to relive the magic! :goofy:

The monorail is great. We love going on when we have a car to ourselves. You can get nice pictures and then tell people "You'll never guess where this picture is."

That is the first thing we did! We took the bus from POR to the TTC and rode the "Epcot" monorail all the way around, then hopped on the "Magic Kingdom and Resorts" monorail. It was a great way to take in your very first glimpse of Spaceship Earth and Cinderella Castle. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I love the monorail! It's a great way to relax, just riding it around. It's fun! :thumbsup2

Yeah, usually when we just want to relax we take a ride around on the monorail sometimes. Its relaxing and you get to see the sites, plus meet new people. :goodvibes

We love to joy ride on the monorails  BUT I hate to have to stand up on them and hold on to the center thing when there are no seats available :guilty: ( but I also hate to have to stand on the busses when they are full, with all their starts and stops) :goodvibes

I love to ride around on the monorail espically in the front with the pilot. It's my fave way to see The castel for the first time every trip.

-Heavens-Gliss- I'll be at Pop the same time you are. Hope to see you there :sunny:

We ride the monorail every trip! My kids got to ride in the front with the driver on our last visit. There was only room for four, so my DH took the kids. I told him next time it's MY TURN.

after brkfst at Chef Mickey's DS & I waited at the Contemp monorail platform until we could get a ride in the front! yup and took it around and got back off at the Contemp
It was a hangout/relax day for us

I love the monorail...last time we were there I wanted to ride up front w/ the driver and there was electrical problems with the parks so we couldnt ride up front.
they wouldnt let anyone ride up front during the electrical problems so I was left rioding where all the other passangers do.
So, I made bf promise that he would take me and let me ride up front w/ the driver...he will love this! he is such a gadget guru that I think he will really love this.
So, here's to hoping I'll get to ride up front!

We normally ride it everyday just for fun while we are there. It's relaxing and cool and my kids love it. It's a good way to decompress.

When I saw this thread I was laughing :rotfl: :rotfl:. I thought My family was the only ones that did this, after all who goes to disney and rides the monorail for fun. lol

We LOVE the monorail. That's one of the reasons we like to stay at the Contemporary. Three weeks from today I'll be riding the monorail for real. :woohoo:

Dan-- thanks for those great pics!!
