Do you like the sometimes just ride the Monorail?

Our family loves the monorail! We will go out of our way to ride it, especially the Epcot route.

I was just curious for anyone who has stayed at WDW Monorail Resorts or one day after leaving the Magic Kingdom, have you ever decided to ride the WDW monorail all around just for fun? Since my family & I always stay at the Contemporary on days where we plan on just relaxing we sometimes like to ride the Monorail once around the track & get off it when we return to the Contemporary. So anyone else ever do this?

I love to ride the monorail.

When we went last year and stayed at the WL, my wife couldn't understand why I made us take the boat to the MK then transfer to the monorail just to get to Epcot on our first night. She caught on quickly, I needed the fix.....

We too, love the Monorail and will just ride it around a while, but I have to say that I find them to be rather stinky these days. Now, I have a nose that's more of a curse than a blessing, and can smell better than the average K-9.

Yup, it's really relaxing and fun. I like to watch and see the excitement on peoples faces before getting to the parks or watch the tired happiness of leaving the parks! you really see some interesting people!

We ride the monorail every trip! My kids got to ride in the front with the driver on our last visit. There was only room for four, so my DH took the kids. I told him next time it's MY TURN.

We like to do this too. We stay at the value resorts, but always have an ADR for Chef Mickey's. After breakfast, we always ride the monorail to the MK. My kids sat up front TWICE on our last trip, once during the day and once at night. It is cool at night!! We also like to stop at the other resorts on the monorail to check them out. They are all so beautiful!!!!

Thanks, Dan. That was a wonderful trip. All I would have added was a stop on the way to the monorail to see my brick. That's what I often do.
I love to ride the monorail around. When I've been "Up and at 'em" since park opening, and the day's getting hot, I've often retreated to the monorail and ridden around a few times in the air conditioning to rest. Then when I'm somewhat rejuvenated, I stop at the next hotel to get a "froo-froo" drink in their lounge for some more rest and some more air conditioning. After a while, I return to the monorail, and when I'm ready to go again, I return to the park.

DH and I usually ride the Monorail the entire circuit at least once while we are there. Relaxing and cool. Then on to more rides or whatever.

It's agreat way to relax those tired "can't take one more step" legs!

Yes we like to take it and rake a ride all around. We have also got off at each hotel to view them and stop and eat at a different one.

we have! i like going around the resort loop at night and seeing everything lite up!

Riding the monorail is one of our favorite things to do. It gets us into the DW spirit.

We like to ride the resort monorail and get off at the different resorts during the holiday season and see all the decorations and get something to eat when the spirit hits us.

Riding the other loop takes us through the middle of MK and we get a great view of everything.

Riding it at night is an entirely other experience.

When we had our oldest grandson with us one time he wanted to ride it over and over again. One of joys of being grandparents and frequent visitors we could do it for him. We enjoyed it as well.

Celebrate the child in you. It is safe here and greatly encouraged.

We usually have enough "official business" to conduct so we ride the monorial quite a bit. If we didn't need it for transportation, I would probably do a loop.

I love the monorail, especially at night!!!
When I was younger we went to WDW with several other families. All the teenagers would get on the monorail at the contemporary and just ride around all night. Boy those days were fun!

I love the monorail!! On our first trip in 2002, DD and I got to ride up front and the pilot took our picture, it was quite cool!! Looking forward to another ride in December!!

We rode the monorail one night and caught the water parade. I would love to do it this year, but my boys will think I am crazy.

A ride on the resort monorail and then on the EPCOT monorail are a must for me on every trip. I also enjoy the boat from the Magic Kingdom dock to Wilderness Lodge, then hop a bus to Downtown Disney, shop a little, then take the boat "home" to PO-R. Makes for a very enjoyable afternoon.
