My DH got me a laptop for Christmas and I'd love to take it to WDW next week. If my room is not ready and I decide to leave my luggage and go to a park, do I leave the laptop with bell services?

We do. We have always left our laptop, camera gear bags, etc. with Bell Services with no problem at all. Others don't feel comfortable with that, but we don't have any issue.

We did this past October. Even left it with them when we switched resorts. It was delivered safely to our room.:goodvibes

Nope. Left it on the desk in the room pluged in and on while we were at the parks. Never had a problem.

we never had to ,but would feel confident about leaving it with them . Have always taken one with us and it's always been where we left it in the room. right on the kitchen table plugged into the wall.

Thank you for all your quick replies. I am hoping that my studio will be ready but in case it is not, I do love to go to the parks right away.

For a long time, I wouldn't do this. If it was our first day and the room wasn't ready yet, I'd lug the laptop and huge camera bag to the park with us, and rent one of the large lockers there. (We typically use DME, so luggage wasn't an issue for arrival.)

If it was the last day of our trip and we were going to hang out at the pool until our flight, I'd leave the luggage with bell services and lock the laptop/camera up in one of the large lockers at the pool.

LOL, I guess as my laptop and camera started getting a little older, I'm not quite as paranoid about them any more. For the past few trips, I've just left everything with bell services.

We've never had any problems. They'll even put a "FRAGILE" tag on the bag if you ask them.

I will so, though, that before any trip where my laptop is going to get carried along, I do a full backup of all my files at home. That way, if the laptop is lost I haven't lost anything other than the laptop itself. The most valuable thing on it at the end of the trip is all the photographs we've taken while on vacation. I've purchased an 8GB SD card, and now use that to make a full backup of all pictures before we check out. That's kept in a different carry-on bag.

We have trusted bell services with our laptops on just about every trip we have taken to WDW and they are great :thumbsup2

We have never had any trouble leaving anything with Bell Services. Last month I got a look backstage at Bell Services, security cameras everywhere. Made me feel even better about leaving items with them.

For items like cameras and laptops, the Bell storage areas have locked cages to store those types of items. I always feel very safe leaving things with the Bell staff.

As someone else mentioned, there are locked cages available. I take it out of the suitcase and have them store it in the locked cage--they give you a separate receipt.

Thanks for the info, I will make the request to have it stored in the locked cage.
I feel kind of silly for being so worried I've never traveled with a laptop before.
