Josephine Baker. An American singer/dancer who moved to France and became popular over there in the 20's and 30's.

I like old black and white pics and old Hollywood pics, especially the 30's and 40's.

I though this pic looked good of a French star with a watch from a French Jeweler.

My wife does not care for the pic.

Most of the stars that are mentioned on Dis I have never heard of, if I'm interested enough I'll google it to see who they are.

I have never heard of Mya for example.

I know she's a singer.

While Mya is very pretty and does somewhat resemble Josephine, she doesn't have the sultry mysterious essence Josephine does (IMO).

I am not the only one that thinks it is ugly and gaudy. If you love it then you are more than welcome to buy it.
To me it looks like something a gay man in SouthBeach might wear!

I can't believe you actually said that ! But all of a sudden "we are family" came into my head from the Robin Williams movie...

Is that from The Birdcage??? LOL!! I almost did not write it becaue of "some people" but the more I went back and looked at it the more it reminded me of that!! More Robin Williams'"friend" might wear that...what was his name......Hank something...he used to be married to Helen Hunt.

Yes.....Nathan Lane....I laughed and I hope people can laugh to...can't be so politically correct we're afraid to be human. I have a few gay friends they laugh at that movie too because its so over the top..

Too big and bulky for me, and don't like the white.

Same here.

Still don't care for it. I like a smaller, sleeker style watch. But obviously everyone has different tastes, because many people on this thread have commented that they DO like it.

Not to my liking. But my sister was wearing a giant watch today. It was white and she said it was ceramic. Her dh had bought it for her. As far as trends go, she runs circles around the rest of the family, so maybe it's really in style right now?

I like a big clunky watch, and I like the shape of that. But I wouldn't like the strap at all, or the color of it. And I'm not sure of the "rivets" on the watch. But the basic shape, I like.

Robin's character's partner was played by Nathan Lane, but yes, Hank Azaria was in it too. Him and his Guatemalaness and his short shorts...first time I ever saw him, and wow was it confusing for me! '

Might have to watch that again, it was a really good movie!

The funny thing was...last night I had trouble sleeping and I turned on the TV and guess what was on????? YES..THE BIRDCAGE!!!! When I saw that I just laughed and actually sat up until 3 am watching it!! I did not watch the whole thing but I did find myself looking at their accessories to see if any were wearing anything ugly and gaudy!!!! LOL!!
