Do you keep things even between kids for Holiday gifts?

At this point the age gap makes a big difference for our kids. The older ones are about 5-6 years older than the younger ones so we just keep the gifts about the same number and same type but for their age and gender. For instance, they all are getting a Razor Scooter so that was the same price. However we are all getting them something electronic and to be more age appropriate, they are different prices. The older ones are getting an Ipod Touch each and the younger two are getting a LeapPad each so big price difference but is more age appropriate and will keep their interests more.

I always make sure that the number of gifts are even. I do not worry so much about the money spent being the same. My girls are 6 years apart and the oldest always got more expensive gifts than the youngest. She does not understand the amount of money, but sure knows how to count gifts!

OP here - thank you all for your replies. I feel better know that some of you have the situation that one child's presents cost more than the younger. Like a pp said my younger DD's day will come
