We went last year and had a wonderful time. Aside from the line to get into the Magic Kingdom being all they was out to the exit for the Boardwalk, Christmas day was just a family day and the kids had a good time. The decorations were amazing, and the light show at Disney Studios is not to miss. I'm sure we will be back, but not until my girls are older.

We have spent X-Mas at Disney twice and our daughters loved it. This year we're going Dec 10th for a week hoping to miss the crowds.

We haven't yet but have plans for THIS Christmas AND New Years at Disney. We are stayikng at SSR and are so excited. One year we went right after Thanksgiving and it was decorated for Christmas and we even did the MVMCP, but I'm thinking it will seem completely different.

I just asked my dh if he'd ever do this and was shocked when he immediately said yes. (I defer to him as he is the only member of our family that celebrates Christmas in the traditional Christian sense.) I suppose it's because our kids are older now. I think he'd really enjoy wandering the World seeing all the little ones with both the wonder of Christmas and Disney in their eyes.

We went for Christmas of 06. Were at the VWL the same time as Granny although we never ran in to him.

Special memory...my daughters birthday is Dec. 23rd. She turned 8 on that trip. We let her plan her entire day. We went to AK for breakfast at Donald's then several rides on EE. After that we went to her BBB appointment for her makeover, headed to dinner at Chef Mickey's then ended the evening with a swim in the WL pool. It was a perfect day with one very happy litte girl.

The next evening we watched her decorate our little Christmas tree in our wonderful lodge room. Woke up Christmas morning to open presents and followed it with lunch at WCC. It was our bext Christmas ever!

This year we are going right after Christmas but we will go for the actual holiday again many times.

I don't see us ever going the week of Christmas/New Year's due to the insane crowd levels. I'd love for us to go in early December to see the decorations, MVMCP, etc. but DH works in retail and vacations are blocked out between Black Friday and the first week of January :sad2: So, unless he changes careers, we won't be going during December anytime soon.

I voted "No and don't really plan to either"

We plan to do the week prior to Christmas through Christmas Day in December 2012, which will be our 20th anniversary. We've been there late December for our honeymoon - but never for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I'm looking forward to seeing all the special shows/parades/sites once - but I did not like the crowds and I really love Christmas in my own house, so I can't imagine making it a regular event.

Christmas is probably the only holiday that I do not want to travel on.

To me....Waking up on Christmas morning at home is the best....don't mean I won't jet outta here the next day and do New Years at the World:cool1:

:wave2: Hey, friend... Good to see you back here. I'm sure school has been rough this year with cut-backs everywhere. You need to go to my "Username thread".. I want to know the story behind your username. :)

Our DD is a cast member, now just working seasonally. When she was down there all the time, we went once at Christmas to watch her work (she is in entertainment). It was INSANE! I have never ever ever seen so many people in the MK! And her getting off work, doing gifts in our rooms (she shared a house with other cast members, and it was full) - it just wasnt a satisfying Christmas for us. Instead we now go somewhere in teh season, even into January before the decorations are down, but not during the week. This year, due to her work schedule, we will ALL come home on the 22nd. It is the best of both worlds for us - Christmastime at WDW and Christmas at home.

We hope to go Dec. 2009. I have visited once over the holidays years ago, but my DH and 2 DDs have never been during Christmas.

 Hey Rob. Yup - my school did not make the dreaded AYP last year so my head is spinning from all the paperwork/interventions/testing we are forced to do. At this point my fingers are just crossed that we'll soon have a administration that knows (and cares) something about urban public education. No Child Left Behind is killing us.

I responded to your screen name thread :goodvibes . So are you thinking about Christmas a WDW? With or without family?

We vacationed from December 19th through the 25th 2004 and loved it. To us it was very cold that year. We are from Texas though and to me anything below 60 degrees is freezing.

Anyway we completely loved it. The key for us was we had been before and new we were going back so instead of focusing on the rides we focused on the special seasonal activities.

We have never spent Christmas at Disney, and probably never will. DH would never consider it because of the crowds.

This will be our first Christmas away from home ... but we will be at our home-away-from-home BWV:thumbsup2

DD turns 16 on Monday ... and DH and I figured this was probably our last and best chance to be at WDW for Christmas.

We will be there Dec. 21 through 26. Right now we are looking at driving instead of flying ... although I am hopeful airfare will start dropping. DH really wants to drive to give DD the experience that we had as kids :faint:

We've been there for Christmas twice, but I really prefer New Year's Eve instead. The parks are a lot of fun on NYE and the crowd dwindles a bit after the first. We did NYE twice and stayed for the marathon. I don't think we'll do Christmas again because of the mob scene. Just too many people. Plus I like to do the waterparks and it can get cold during that time.

We will never go the week of Christmas for many reasons...But going for the Christmas season is a love of ours...We have been twice and will be back again in the future...We cannot get enough of all the decorations, music, and magic of the holidays at WDW....

And nothing is better than staying at the WL at Christmas time :thumbsup2

I understand what you're saying. Our county has the fastest growing ESL in the country. Virtually impossible to attain AYP at many schools. They were even considering giving up Federal funding to do away with it. NCLB is a nice thought, but... it can't be fairly administered without the appropriate funding.

We are thinking about Christmas at DVC... not this year, but it is in the back of our minds. Not sure about with or without our kids (24 & 28). We took them to VB this summer and it wasn't a great experience.

Good to talk to you again... Hope things get easier after we bring in a new administration... "O" yes. :)

I vote for no kids. It can be very romantic at Christmas
