Do you HAVE to notify resort of 5th guest staying?

Just wondering if it is policy to let the front desk know if a 5th person will be in your room, even if the room is set up to accomodate 5 people (the daybed).

The price jumps up when you add that 5th person into the mix when I check out rates on the WDW site....

So, I was wondering how anyone else handled this type of situation? I don't want to do anything wrong...but if the room sleeps 5, I was just wondering if you really had to let them know in advance?

Thanks! :wave2:

I am pretty sure that you do have to notify the front desk. I thought there was an additional charge for the extra adult in the room. $25/night but I could be wrong.

You are suppose to let them know (ethically), but if you look at it from the onsite perk point of view, you would need to let them know because everyone is issued a resort ID card and you need that ID to take advantage of EMH's.

Good point! And, I didn't know about that...this will be our first on site stay! So, thanks for the important info....I appreciate it!

Also you may want them to know so you do get the room with the daybed for the 5th person. Not all the rooms are set up with a daybed, maybe.

There are rooms at the BC, YC, AKL, and BWI for sure that don't have a daybed. If you don't book for five in advance, you run the risk of being assigned a room without one, and there not being a room that sleeps five available.

Since you seem concerned about it, I am assuming that the 5th person is an adult, making 3 adults in the room. If there are 2 adults and three children, there is no extra charge, assuming the room can fit 5 people.

Pretty much seems like you've answered your own question. Let your conscience be your guide, but if it increases the rate then to not tell the resort would be stealing. (Although, as others have noted, if only two of the five are adults, then it shouldn't be raising the price on the web site.)
