Do you have to book using your Disney Visa?

This may seem like a really stupid question (only if I don't ask it, right?) but do you have to actually use your Disney Visa to book your trip in order to get the Visa holder only discount? (Sounds even more dumb after I read it again, but you never know until you ask, right?)

You have to put at least your $200 deposit down with it.

What if you have already paid a deposit and are trying to switch to the discount? Would still have to put $200 on the card or just have them verify that you have the card?

I didn't have to verify or use my card at all (???). I had already paid a deposit and additional payments toward my trip but didn't use my visa for those, either. The discount was applied to my reservation and that was that. I had used the card for dining reservations and the wishes desert party but that's it.

I had assumed I would but didn't. Still confused but have received the confirmation email.

Was your wishes desert party above $200 total? That could be why.

They refunded $200 to my Southwest Card(we had already paid in full) and then charged the $200 to my Disney Rewards Visa.

On another thread today, a poster reported not having to pay with the card at all. I'm still trying to find the thread again :)

Nope, it was under $100 for the 4 of us if I remember correctly. I had even asked her if I needed to make an additional payment with the card and was told no. I also didn't have a new reservation made - she just added the code to my current reservation and that was that. I have the confirmation email (same reservation number) with the new total. My reservation shows in MDE as MYW+ discounted dining but the "remaining balance" still won't show - just says unavailable. She was able to tell me my remaining balance over the phone though.

Wish I would have known this, I have a $500+ credit on my Southwest Card now, haha. We'll just be buying groceries with it now.
