Do you have gift cards for Disney? Do you know how to use them?

Here is the information on how to use gift cards. If you are like us, we love to save money. If we buy gift cards at SAMS , we save 5%. However, it was very difficult to learn how the gift cards could be used since they could not be linked directly on the magic bands.

Here’s the deal: If you link your debit card to your room, your card will be charged when it reaches $500. For example, if you go to Epcot and spend $400 on Day 1 and $100 on Day 2, on Day 2 you will be charged the total amount. So here is the tip on using the gift cards. You will have to link your debit/credit card to your room, but at the end of each day go down to the guest services and apply your gift card to your folio, and as long the balance never goes over $500, you can use your gift cards your entire trip.

Please like this thread if you learned something new! Thank you!

Sorry to say, you're getting some things wrong. There's already much detail here about how to buy Disney gift cards at much more than a 5% discount.

Further, the threshold where your card is charged differs based on the resort level; $500 at value resorts, $1,000 at moderates, and $1,500 at deluxe resorts.

Ummm...you're preaching to the choir here and you're way behind on the curve. Looks like someone is trying to drive traffic to their blog.

And even that information is not 100% accurate as there have been reports on the Resorts Board that room charges were sent to the CC or debit card on file long before the traditional thresholds were reached. But you are correct that this is the information which is provided when you check in at any of the resorts. It's just that there is a disparity between what Disney "says" and what Disney "does".

And to the OP: Misinformation is still wrong information. Have a super magical day!
