Do you have any regrets?

Caity, thanks. Exactly. I see a distinction between the regret and the response to the regret.

Not moving 3 years ago when my husband wanted to and there were a lot of IT jobs :(

Several.

Not pursuing a "real" teaching job when I was younger even tho I can honestly say I have loved subbing all these years but the pay certainly isn't the greatest!

Having not discovered Disney sooner. Our boys were 9, 11, and 17 when we first started going!!!:earseek:

if you come to terms with something, and no longer look back on it with sorrow, you no longer regret it.

you don't think that's possible?

Sinatra summed it up best for me:

"Regrets, I have had a few...but then again, too few to mention."

Not going away to college or at least not living alone before I got married. I think it would have made me a little more independent.
Tara

Have some regrets:

1.) Would have liked to have more children (but that was all God's plan.)

2.) Wish I had gone to college.

3.) Wish I had ordered flowers instead of balloons for the guest tables at my wedding.

4.) Wish my in-laws liked me (can't do anything about this one, nor do I care too anymore at this point! )

I regret never finishing diets I start. I try to hard and do really well, then get complacent and loose interest and it's almost back to square one again!!

I regret not keping in touch with a close friend from school. She tracked me via the internet and sent me an email at christmas. I emailed her back and we were going to meet up after christmas when I was next visiting our home town (she still lived there I had moved 2 hours away). I regret not having the opportunity to do that as she died age 27 at the end of January :sad1: She was suddenly taken ill and died 3 days later. It was very unexpected.

Do I wish I had taken some different paths over the years? Yes, of course.

Do I regret the choices I've made? Not in the least. They were the right choices for me at that time.

Life's to short to think about regrets. I'd rather focus on today and tomorrow and keep my memories of yesterday the happy ones.

Mary, you are one WISE WOMAN!::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

To feel sorry, disappointed, or distressed about.
To remember with a feeling of loss or sorrow; mourn.

if you come to terms with your mistakes, you don't "regret" them. everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone has regrets about them.

I agree completely, BR. But I am probably considerably older than many who have posted here and it took me a while to come to this place. I believe that mistakes aren't 'bad' if I've learned from them and know that "hot fire forges strong steel", in other words the negative and painful experiences in my life have made me a much stronger person. Some choices I've made weren't the best ~ hindsight is 20/20 ~ but I've learned from them all and they've made me who I am today so I do not regret anything. If I had a time machine I don't think I'd change much as it might change who I am today and I like myself well enough::yes::

Regrets. I've had a few, buth then again too few to mention.

My biggest regret is my 15 year old self picked up the smoking habit. I thought I was immortal and that I wouldn't get cancer, or cancer would be cured by the time I was old enough to get it, and as a result it has been a HUGE monkey on my back trying to quit. But its been 10 months since I last had a smoke, and each day I get stronger. At this point all I can do is pray that the damage I inflicted on my lungs all those years is not something that is going to come back and bite me in my old age.

I regret putting to many purchases on my credit cards when I was younger.

This regret though has taught me some valuable financial planning which is helping my DH and I get out of this debt while we are still young so it doesn't haunt us for the rest of our lives.

I regret never being happy with my body and always thinking I'm fat -- I look back at pics 20, 15 and 10 years ago and I looked great but never thought I did. Now I'm at my heaviest and probably 5 years from now I'll look at pics and think I look great again! (take note Danacara who probably does not need to lose 10 lbs.)

I regret not going away to college.

I regret not going for a degree in teaching like my Mom said - Fashion Merchandising - what the heck was I thinking!!??

I regret not finishing my teaching degree when I went back to school.

I work as a middle school aide and I don't see myself ever finishing up my degree. Just not enough time and not enough motivation. I feel like my time and talents are seriously underpaid, although I enjoy my job and the hours work great for my kids.

Some mornings I regret how late I stayed up with all of you on the Dis! ;)
