This morning Wilgus's doctor called us and told him that the angiogram he had performed on Monday showed that the malignant tumor in his right kidney has invaded his vena cavae.

So, we've been waiting until 11/18 when he was going to have his kidney removed. It's been a month. We were so ready for this surgery. We wanted to get it over with.

Now, instead of stage II cancer, he is facing stage III cancer. Now he has to face chemo and/or radiation. Okay, we can deal with that.

He must now have a team of surgeons. A team for the bypass on the vena cavae and a team to remove the kidney. They can't do that here. Now, we go to Ann Arbor. Excellent surgeon-excellent facility.

However, this team cannot do a consultation with him until 11/30! We've already waited a month now-- two more weeks to wait just to find out when they can do the surgery.

Okay, gang. I'm coming to you for comfort again. If you pray, pray hard. If you don't pray, please think good thoughts for us.

This is the scariest thing we've ever experienced. This is even scarier than when he had the heart attack and bypass surgery :(

Prayers going out to you from Massachusetts. May he have a speedy and complete recovery. :grouphug:

{{{{{{Katholyn}}}}} & {{{{{Wilgus}}}}}

I wish there was something I could say to make it better for you. May it give you some comfort to know that we care and we're behind you both in every way. I'll say several prayers for you and for your surgery team as well.

Keep us posted. :grouphug: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Praying over here in MI, please keep us updated on his progress.

That news must have been quite a shock. I hope everything goes well when he does have it removed and he never has to hear the word "cancer" again.

Praying for both of you. Prayers on the DIS do work. I know that from personal experience.

I have kept you and your DH in my thoughts and prayers and I can only imagine the additional anguish that you are feeling due to all of the waiting. Prayers not only for healing, but for patience and for strength to deal with all that is going on in your lives. And prayers too for the doctors, surgeons, nurses, oncologists, and other caregivers that they will be guided by His hands. My daily thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you and Wilgus.

Ah hon, I feel so bad that you and Wilgus have to go thru this horrible ordeal and all this waiting doesn't help. My thoughts and prayers are with him.

Remember what I said when I'm flying high in the sky on Friday......my prayers won't have far to go. ;)
