This morning Wilgus's doctor called us and told him that the angiogram he had performed on Monday showed that the malignant tumor in his right kidney has invaded his vena cavae.
So, we've been waiting until 11/18 when he was going to have his kidney removed. It's been a month. We were so ready for this surgery. We wanted to get it over with.
Now, instead of stage II cancer, he is facing stage III cancer. Now he has to face chemo and/or radiation. Okay, we can deal with that.
He must now have a team of surgeons. A team for the bypass on the vena cavae and a team to remove the kidney. They can't do that here. Now, we go to Ann Arbor. Excellent surgeon-excellent facility.
However, this team cannot do a consultation with him until 11/30! We've already waited a month now-- two more weeks to wait just to find out when they can do the surgery.
Okay, gang. I'm coming to you for comfort again. If you pray, pray hard. If you don't pray, please think good thoughts for us.
This is the scariest thing we've ever experienced. This is even scarier than when he had the heart attack and bypass surgery
