Do you have a "never again" list? Which restaurants are on it and why?

Mickey's Backyard BBQ! It was sooooo hot and sticky. That we ate and left. We never saw the saw. Way to much money for just that. Never again.

Without question Coral Reef....food was aweful the last two times there and we left with splitting headaches both times due to how loud it is.

It's funny how some of the ones that come back like Le Cellier and Rose & Crown are on our to do list every time and we've never been desapointed.:)

ABC Commissary - never again! And the other ones, I cannot say I hated them, but there were not my faves : Chef Mickey & Whispering Canyon Cafe

I agree Chef Mickey's dinner was horrible. Also last time we went to Garden Grill in April, they changed the menu and the food was horrible. Will not do that again either. My fav is between CP and Tusker House for breakfast. We also enjoyed 1900 Park Fare for breakfast. It's on our to do this Oct.

Everybody has different taste and different experience. So it's hard to judge a restaurant from others' experience.

we had good time last year. Though I should say Disney's food is nothing special. If I could move my favorite restaurants here to Disney, that would be great. Disney restaurants are all overpriced for average food.

1900 park fare - food is not good except the strawberry soup, but the character interaction is great. I wouldn't go again because I've already got pictures. overpriced.

Crystal palace - food is not good interaction is great. Since I have the pictures already, wouldn't go again. overpriced.

All counter services we've been to are very good, Cosmic Ray, Flamingtree, yak yeti...

Captain cook counter service at Polynesian is really bad. But we still ahve to go this time because we're staying at Poly.

The only "never again" would be Big River Grille. It wasn't horrible. Just lacking in taste. Great service but, nothing much else to write home about.

It's obviously true that different people have different tastes. We had a great experience at WCC last fall and DBF had put in a special request for it again this year. We had great food and great service. Maybe we'll have a less than magical experience this time around but, that can happen at any place anywhere.
We also enjoy Sci-Fi but, have learned to eat there for lunch rather than dinner.

There's a few places I will never try like San Angel Inn and Marrakesh only because I've previewed the menus and saw that there is nothing I would feel comfortable ordering.

Nine Dragons...Is salt the only spice the chef is allowed to use? Or is there really a chef? (I have had frozen Chinese that tasted just as bad LOL!)

Having been lucky enough to travel to Asia, it's not REAL Chinese or even bad "American" Chinese

(which is why some of the Epcot resturants get "trashed". People don't want TRUE Mexican, they want "Tex Mex" etc...)

The only place I will not return to Rainforest Cafe in DTD (I got food poisoning from their shrimp. It was bad... over half our trip was ruined as I couldn't even leave the hotel room for days!)

On the flip side we have yet to encounter another sit down restaurant within the parks/resorts that we did not enjoy! Some are definitely better than others and some have a better atmosphere than food and visa versa. However, can't say we've left anywhere saying... "Yuck! Never again!"

I truly cannot live without 50's Prime Time Cafe's fried chicken and smores though! I would be crushed if I was in WDW and did not get to eat that particular meal!!! :)

my only one would be 1900 Park Fare. Food wasn't good, wait was horrible and character interaction was so-so (had better at other places).

I have a few: :(

Hollywood and Vine - the food is not that great and honestly, the whole place smells like a dirty kitchen rag.

Coral Reef - We gave it a go twice and the food was just okay and the service was TERRIBLE!

Cape Mafe Cafe Bkft - the food choices were minimal and the character interaction was highly disappointing.

Just remembered-Tutto Italia
Our waitress was the rudest we've ever encountered at any restaurant on or off Disney property. We were there in May with our 16 yo. Neither my husband nor I wanted to drink alcohol. At a table next to us, the couple was drinking like fish. The waitress was schmoozing like crazy with them. We waited forever for water, our tea, and our food. She barely acknowledged us throughout our meal. We left no tip. She might think it's because we're "ugly Americans" but I don't care. I won't reward poor service.

Hated chef mickeys - characters litterly run past you and food was horrible.

Hated garden grill - yuck

I agree with you. I was not here last year, but I was totally disappointed with the restaurants. I could not bring myself to get the dining plan because of it this time. Since I have been here I have been eating off-site. Disney's Dining has gone down hill - way down. The first time I was at 1900 Park Fare let's say 4 years ago, the food was good, two years ago it was pretty bland. The same could be said for Crystal Palace (both breakfast and dinner,) and Chef Mickey's.

Most of the counter service restaurants are good, but in my opinion, some of them are over priced for what you get.

I went out of my way to drive to restaurants off site, and I thought the food was way more superior to anything Disney has to offer except for Bomas, which has been a fav of mine for years. I hope the food is still good there.

Its funny to read people diss our favorite restaurants and at the same time other people love the ones we didnt. At least Disney has something for everyone!

I love the show at the HDDR, but i hate strawberries with a passion (and guess what dessert is...strawberry shortcake...I havent had the guts to ask for something else)
Spirit of Aloha's food was awesome (for my wife and I) but the show...idk I didnt think it lived up to the HDDR (not on my never again list)
The only place I dont think I will visit again is the restaurant in Morocco...service was great but thats just not my type of food. The Trails End (Ft Wilderness) is way overpriced but I always leave full and with generic quality food. I dont think ive ever "hated" a Disney restaurant bad enough to never go back.

Hollywod and Vine is a no go for us. The food was okay, but we didn't even see all the characters (and that is why we went). I'm sure other people love it, but I won't waste money or dining credits on it again. I wil say, however, our server was very nice.

Everyone is so different in their opinions. Having said that: We will never eat at counter service in DHS again. No options there are edible to us. Since DHS is a half day park for us, it's easy to either not eat there at all, or just book lunch at Sci Fi or 50s.

In fact, most CS places that serve american burgers, etc. Aren't really that good. They are rubbery/fatty/and just weird.

Wow. We love Ohana's. But mostly for the character breakfast. But we do try to eat dinner there once each trip since we love the atmosphere so much.

I usually plan my dining based on current reviews. Restaurant's change with the personnel. The better the personnel, the better the experience.

But Yachtsman Steak house is close to a never again. Mainly because it did not impress me as much a Shula's, so we go to Shula's. I worked in a high class steak house my last few years in the restaurant business and thus have pretty high standards. Shula's exceeded them, the Yachtsman was just OK, so to me that meant it was way overpriced. Also the service was below average at the Yachtsman, while Shula's has been exemplary each time.

And Pizza Planet is so disappointing to a child who pictures the restaurant in the movie.
