Do you have a "never again" list? Which restaurants are on it and why?

CRT - Breakfest

Food was horrible (Stuffed french toast made me sick).

Service was rushed beyond anything I have ever seen. Took one bite of our food and the check was on the table.

Poor character interaction. Cinderella was only downstairs for photos. Belle, Snow White, Ariel and Aurora spent about 15 seconds at the table and took one quick Picture.

This is definitely not worth 2 TS credits. WOULD NEVER GO AGAIN!!!!!!!

I have really enjoyed reading each person's "never again" list :)
One thing is certain- Disney can never please us all :rotfl:

I didn't like Restaurant Marrakesh or Nine Dragons-
felt unwelcome at RM and food was not of good quality
felt welcome at 9D but the food was not of good quality and not authentic.

So the question becomes "what is authentic?"
Some think a cuisine is too spicy, some, too bland, so the answer becomes: it's a matter of subjective opinion.

I happen to LOVE Akershus.
Much of it is authentic Norwegian cuisine- Norwegian breads, cheeses, cold salads, pickled herring, lax, and entrees like the Salmon followed by riskreme on the dessert plate- all amazing Norwegian foods :thumbsup2
For me it's like Christmas because most of these foods we are only blessed to have during the holidays, and if you did not come from a Norwegian heritage, you might not like pickled herring or gjetost cheese...:rotfl:

The pasta that PP did not care for- not Norwegian- but I'm sure is on the menu to try to please those who don't want to try or don't think they care for Norwegian food.

Disney tries hard to be everything to everyone and perhaps that is the downfall, perhaps that is the genius- depends on your point of view ;)
I'm sure Disney is thinking of their bottom line.

I bet a lot of people find themselves at the Akershus koldtbord because their little ones need to see the princesses, never having the desire to try Norwegian fare or thinking they would ever encounter Norwegian food outside of Norway or the upper Midwest.
In that case, i'm sure you are just trying to make the best of it for their sake. :goodvibes
Just remember that "those prices" at Akershus were lower before they added the requisite picture with Belle... :rolleyes1

I try not to choose restaurants based on characters but solely on the cuisine, and since Mexican does not agree with me anymore, I don't eat at the Mexico pavilion :confused3

I did not like RM, but that is not because I do not like Moroccan food.
I make a fabulous Beef Tagine and Moroccan couscous that would make you weep for joy, lots of spices- I am an adventurous eater.

I love good authentic Chinese food :lovestruc and especially enjoy this cuisine because of its healthy balance of tender-crisp vegetables, lean meats and tasty sauces, but found none of those things at 9D.

Sometimes I wonder if our dislike of these restaurants is because they are too authentic or not authentic enough.

Only a native could tell for sure :lmao:

DH said never again to H&V dinner. Blech.

I can't say I have a never again restaurant, but I do have a never again meal. The pork medallions at Boatwright at POR. Here's the description...

Grilled Tenderloin Medallions - served with Crayfish, Honey-Mustard Mashed Sweet Potatoes, and Rum Demi-glace $26.99

Ok so in retrospect I never should have ordered it. It tasted like an episode of CHOPPED. SO yucky together.

We loved Akershus as well. And cannot wait to go again in 7 days! They have changed the menu since we were last there in Dec, which makes me nervous. But it was actually my favorite meal of our Dec trip, food wise. I'm surprised people dislike it.

My never ever ever again -
H&V - it was unspeakably bad. I can't believe hordes of people do not get violently ill every day after eating there.
Marrakesh - Not because it was that bad, but there are 5 or 6 other great, memorable restaurants in Epcot. Why waste your money on mediocre? The food was not spicy enough, the wine list wasn't good enough, and I ordered the Mint Tea that was supposed to be so wonderful... and they never brought it.

Hands down Ohana, I really don't get the attraction here. The food was horrible. Frozen dumplings, boxed noodles, dry meat and mushy shrimp. And, the courses were brought out very, very quickly. Gross, gross, gross. The most over hyped restaurant at Disney.

We have 3 places. Tutto Italia had the worst entrees we have had in 20 years ay Disney. My pasta was mushy and bland with a tomato sauce that had so little flavor that it likely had never seen a tomato.

Wolfgang Puck restaurant in DTD West side mostly because it was so noisy we couldn't hear each other and unable to enjoy anything.

Finally, and definitely not least, Rose and Crown. Prime rib was tasteless and when first served may have been run through the kitchen to warm it up. Also, I don't know how they could mess up a
Beer sampler but they managed.

Restaurant Marrakesh. The worst restaurant I've ever eaten in EVER.

The food was tasteless. No seasonings at all. A total waste of time and money. Blech.

I suppose if you had young kids, the Belly Dancer was fun but she only danced for 5 minutes, spent 10 trying to coach young kids to dance with her and then danced with them for 5 minutes. My kids were older and didn't care about dancing so only DH enjoyed the Belly Dancer. I guess for him the restaurant wasn't a total waste.

Once we left the restaurant, we went someplace else to get some food to eat.

Toy Story Pizza Planet Mama Celeste's pizza sitting in the sun for three days, re-frozen and then cooked with a hairdryer would have tasted better t And you'd be better off making a salad out of the greens Disney has been developing for NASA over at The Land over the last 28 years.

Rose and Crown ... It was like eating a box of dried potato flakes and powdered gravy reconstituted with grease....

:lmao: Never been, and not likely to shell out the money to go anytime soon. Thanks for the description! :lmao:

50's primetime for my family, we were so not into the atmosphere nor prepared for how into character our waitress would be.

Chef Mickey's - Every time we've eaten there, someone has gotten sick.

Lotus Blossom - Food was terrible. Didn't get sick, but it didn't set well.

Boatwright's. Not bad, just totally not worth it. Even if staying at POR, you're better off finding somewhere else to eat.

Sci-Fi Dine In. For dinner at least; the onion rings and shakes were good, everything else was barely edible, if that.

Our list has grown quite a bit over our last couple of trips. Some are just because they are not as good as other options that WDW has to offer.

1: Le Cellier- I just don't get how so many people love this place. It really isn't that good. The food is salty and is really no better than an Outback. Yes, the pretzel bread is good, but it doesn't justify the hype.

2: Coral Reef- Once a childhood favorite of mine, over the years it has gone way down hill in service, quality and selections.

3: Raglan Road- Awful service, awful accoustics and sub-par overcooked food. They have great bread pudding but with all the other options available, we would rather go elsewhere.

4: Boatwright's- The food was ok, not good but not awful. If I was staying at POR and needed a last second moment dinner and couldn't leave the resort for whatever reason, maybe I would eat there. But, I would much rather go someplace else.

5: Crystal Palace (dinner)- The food just really isn't all that good. We gave it a couple of chances and decided that it just isn't worth it.

6: TE- Not that there is anything bad about it, we just have better (and less expensive) hibachi restaurants where we live.

7: Sci-Fi- The atmosphere is pretty different so I am glad that we tried it. However, the menu is pretty lacking and the food was just not that good.

Mine are Sci-fi and Rose and Crowne.

Have only eaten at either place once. Service was good at both, but the food was yuck.

1) Hollywood and Vine- bland food
2) Crystal Palace-got great reveiws but when we went food was cold and they were out of alot that they werent replenishing and it was only 630 in the evening
3) Tangerine Cafe-another place with great reviews but my lamb was greasy and the chicken very dry
4) Lotus Blossum after reading someone else review of hair being in it

Ours is Ohana for Breakfast. Our server was not very attentive. Our eggs were so runny that we could not eat them. We wanted more waffles for our boys but never got them since our server was gone for a while. Definitely won't ever come back.

All CS in DHS is sub-par

I said never again when we went to Marrakesh and I've meant it. Service was too slow and kids food was nasty.

I don't like Sci-Fi and won't go back.

I wasn't blown away by Narcoosees so we aren't going there again. Wasn't terrible just not worth the money.

Two for us.. One is CS the other is TS..

CS - Tangierine Cafe:
I know this place gets a lot of great reviews with most people but we are not fans. The food was totally bland and tasteless. The customer service was rude and it was just an overall bad experience. I will however stop by for baklava and coffee.

TS - Akershus (dinner):
Tried this twice and have been disappointed twice. Not just with the food (we have no problem with Norwegian food normally, we just don't like it here) but the characters were not great either. We thought that maybe the characters just didn't care to stop for two adults the first time, so we decided to try it again with our kids.. Big mistake. The only character that didn't rush by was Snow White. And don't get me started on Cinderella. Bad experiences both times. Maybe in a few years we will try it for breakfast, but no one is in a rush to go back. If we want to meet with the princesses, we will go to CRT.

DH and I have two. Boma and Cape May. Boma we didn't like the food and the noise. Cape May DH was upset the seafood wasn't seasoned well. I thought the fried fish and non-seafood items were good but we won't be going back.

Le Cellier - contracted ciguatera poisoning from "scallops" that were really punched out of barrier reef fish. I just can't make myself walk in there again.

Ours are:

Boatwrights: Not terrible food, but as was mentioned before, just not very good. We also didn't know what to think about having greens and waffles on the same plate? :confused3

Mama Melrose: We've been there twice for the Fantasmic package and never enjoyed the food. Everything from the pizza to the steak has been subpar and it's always been really crowded with less than ideal service. We did enjoy the pistachio ice cream though.
