Do you have a fire pit? What do you burn in it?

We just got a fire pit for our patio. We burned one of those duraflame logs last night. Just wondering what everyone else burns? Wood, charcoal?

The duraflame logs work great but the cheapest we've found is $2.50. We're not going to want to burn one of those every night.

We burn wood. DH had a pickup delivered when we got ours as a Christmas I think it was 70 bucks and we still have most of it. I am fairly close to you (rock hill, sc), so that seems to be the going rate in this area.

We burn the same seasoned split logs in our fire pit that we burn in our fire place. Once in a while the kids like a duraflame.

We burn wood in our fire pit. Once in awhile if we are dealing with very damp wood we will use a duraflame or a fire starter log to get the wood burning. Our fire pit is also pretty big, probably 5-6 feet across. It's an actual pit dug into the ground, not something purchased that sits on the patio so we can get away with using much larger logs. We love our fire pit!

Wood--if we have a bonfire it usually involved making smores so I don't want to roast marshmallows over a Duraflame. We can pick up bundles of wood several places around town for a few bucks so we do that and a couple bundles usually lasts the summer.

Wood. But ours is an above ground pit that DH bit with rock, etc. in the backyard. We have woods in the back of our house and just gather sticks, etc. and burn them. Love the firepit!!

At the end of every semester my DD and her friends always had a gathering here to burn any notes from classes that they no longer wanted! I can tell you that the wires from spiral notebooks really don't burn well.

Other than that, we just use wood.

Wood. We gather little stuff in the woods to start it, and cut up trees that fall to supply the bigger stuff. Another one fell this weekend, most of it landed in the woods but the top branches are brushing the lawn.

Lots of campfires up here at the lake (some quite big), so it's wood (logs).. The beginning of the season, DGD and I normally traipse through the woods finding all of the larger tree branches that have fallen during the winter - as well as the smaller stuff to use for kindling.. We usually end up with a pretty huge pile and as it dwindles down, we head out to look for more..

Once in awhile you will see those Duraflame logs on sale for a really good price (usually Big Lots or Ocean State Job Lot), so if you happen to see them, you should stock up while you can..

Us too! It's tradition, lol.....we had to borrow 2 extra firepits from the neighbors last year, a LOT of kids had some serious paperwork to see go up in flames

We burn wood in ours. When we have damp wood we'll use a couple of small fire sticks to get it going.
