Do you give your car a nickname?

I have a few friends who give their cars 'names'. One of my favorites was a Pacifica named 'Medusa'. Today I bought a Nissan Rogue, and I was thinking of giving it a name too.

Does anyone else do this?

yes in my family we name our cars..wierdos I know....lol.

My fist car was little black geo storm i called her (yes we assign gender as well) Dot

My current car is a beige mazda protege his name is Dusty

My mom had an old ford Bronco that was like a tank, her name was Betsy.

Im sure you will think of a name for your car once you have driven around a bit and gotten a feel for its "personality"

Bessy is our 99 Ford Taurus and my kids even named the washer and dryer - Steve and Stella ( as in Over the Hedge).
They will get all excited when "Steve" is bepping he is done!

My first car, a 4-in-the-floor Subaru, was Little Egypt for some reason. That's been a long time ago. Now I just call it "Jeep."

I have not named mine, but we just bought my son a used T-Bird on Thursday and were informed her name is Tallulah.

Growing up we had a car we named "Nelly Belly".

As far as naming cars now, no.

However we do try and think up names for our boat and 2 jet ski's. My dd is insistent on "The Litterbox" for our boat.

my sister has a Honda Element and they name it "Ellie"

I have a minivan named....Minnie! However, DS wanted to call her Dolphin, so her full name is Minnie Dolphin.

The kids, both Pokemon fans, named DH's car Squirtle. When they want my DH to go faster, they start yelling "Squirtle, I choose you!"

My beat up 1989 Ford F-150 pick-up (the farm truck) is named Cletus (see my avatar).

DH's new VW jetta is named Klaus.

We even named our hottub...she's Brandine.

I think it depends on the car. My DW has a Dodge Caliber we call the Orange car but my '96 Plymouth Breeze has a few choice names I shouldn't repeat here but one could refer to a certain Adam Sandler song called Ode to my Car

I'm so glad I asked this question! I'm loving reading about everyone's cars.

A friend informed me that my Rogue looks like a 'she', so I guess I'll be thinking about girl names.

I drive the "Mouse Mobile". It is Honda Accord With hand painted Flames on the sides and a "Mickey" head on the hood. Very Cool, thanks to my wonderful son.

Old Nissian Sentra is called Voltron 1 or red lion. The New Sentra is Voltron 2 or redlion 2. Both cars is hence red.

Its name after my fav cartoon series in the world Voltron Defender of the Universe

A friend of mine has named my Odyssey Van, "Christine" like from the movie "Christine"...lol My van seems to have a mind of her own. She will prevent people from getting out or in, will prevent people from rolling down the windows, she has killed the battery, and will set the emergency alarm off for no reason. This was really freaking me out until I did a search on the net for posessed Odyssey vans and actually came upon some hits from people with similar stories. I guess some of the Odyssey vans have "issues"!!!...lol
