Do you fill your own stocking?

Not to stray too far off topic, but I got a Dubai chocolate bar at World Market recently because I've been wanting to try it. The one I got was imported from Turkey. It is DELICIOUS, but I'm a little disappointed because the filling is not the bright beautiful green that you see in the pictures, more of a dull grayish-green. Is the filling normally the same green that's in the pictures?

Santa only brings gifts and stockings for kids.
:thumbsup2 Same here; always has been. I'm still doing a stocking for DS but I'm not sure he'd miss it if I didn't. Gifts are so not a big deal for us at Christmas; we have them but nobody stresses over them in any way. We often don't even get around to opening them until later in the day now that we don't have any little kids at all, anywhere, to share Christmas morning with.
We haven’t filled stockings since my DDs were in elementary school, 25ish years ago. They’re strictly for decoration now.
I've got a set of fancy ones that are for mantle decor only; I get new ones every time I redecorate because I'll never shake being matchy-matchy. Hanging stockings that clashed with the curtains would keep me awake nights.

My DH and I don’t do gifts or stockings to each other anymore, but when we did, my DH always filled mine - he was very good at it.

I still fill a stocking for my DD22 and it’s already filled. I have 2 identical stockings for her so I can pre stuff and then swap them on Christmas Eve.

I’m the one that told my DH to stop doing gifts so we can put that money towards other things throughout the year. So we have fun buying for our DD22 and just watching her open gifts on Christmas morning.

I'm actually in the same boat as OP's friend. I buy and wrap ALL the gifts for my family including stuffing stockings. I have expressed my irritation with my husband that I'm not worth the effort of him stuffing my stocking. He makes excuses, our oldest daughter feels guilty, and nothing changes. Candy from the dollar store would make me happy, it's honestly not about the money. It's about feeling that my husband values me enough to make a little effort.

Could you potentially try and start a different tradition? One that allows for each person's strength to shine. Maybe something else could work to allow the feeling of effort to come out in a different way.

When the kids were little, DH was in charge of all the stockings. He would buy little puzzles, random toys, put some candy in and sometimes practical things like batteries. When MIL was alive she would give us dollar coins to put in them. Now that they are grown, he will put a few pieces of candy in for us and the 2 kids who come home at Christmas but that's it. Oldest has her stocking at her house. (All of them were knit by my MIL)

The only person I buy presents for is grandson. I pay for the flights of the 2 who kids fly home from the west coast. DH and I buy things for ourselves when we want/need them. I really don't like being given gifts that I do not want. Christmas is so less stressful these days.
