Do you feel like a traitor going to Universal?

We just got back from our two week trip. We did Universal/IOA on the first week and Disney on the second. No, I don't feel like a traitor. Especially after our experience at Universal. There are very nice people there. My DH's shorts got marked up by some paint on the JAWS ride and employees there called Ambassadors went out of their way to help him out. They assigned one to walk from store to store with us to try to find a replacement. We had to go to the Citywalk area to find replacement shorts which turned out to be nicer than my husband's. They treated us very nicely and we're glad we got the annual pass. We'll go back again.

i dont know, i was the original poster of this thread, and i've read all the responses, and done some research on Universal Orlando and IOA, and really dont have any desire to go there. Dont get me wrong, I love big thrill rides, but I feel like when I go to Orlando, my heart is at Disney. I feel like I can go to a big thrill ride park anytime in the Northeast, I'd rather spend my time and money at Disney only. Just my 2 cents.

Actually, they have a re-ride door they open when it's not busy. It was open yesterday and you can walk right past the Express entrance and into the castle w/o going outside.

the last 2 times we were there with NO line, absolutely, a walk on,, they would not let us go through the door for ICE, they sent us back around. this really :sad2: when you have to walk further than you should have to.
guess they chose when they want to do it.. *sigh*

We are Disney purists. On only one trip did we decide to visit Universal and we'll never make that mistake again. We thought that maybe we should see something new and the little side trip only reconfirmed our love for Disney. In fact, we don't like to go outside of the resort at all anymore.

I think I may be seeing a trend in this thread...it looks to me as though the guests who only prefer to go to Disney probably do all of their vacationing at Disney, whereas those who also enjoyed Universal probably are taking other vacations, as well.

I know that's true in our case. We like both, and we also love to cruise.

If you know Disney is your perfect vacation, then that's the vacation you should take! If you want to do other things as well, you should feel free to do that, too. Vive la differance!!

Thats a good theroy. My wife and I take holidays all over the place and it was probably this variety that led us to feeling Disney'ed out pretty quickly. We were fairly sure we wouldnt be going back to Florida for a while so wanted to take in as many attractions/parks as possible. My wife wants to do Singapore next year but im hoping we can go via DisneyLand Hong Kong for a quick theme park fix. :))

Don't feel like a traitor at all. In fact, that never even crossed my mind!! My family *LOVES* to stay onsite at Universal moreso than at Disney (gasp!). I love being able to walk to the theme parks and then back to my room. Sit out at the pool at Royal Pacific and still be able to see the rides from Islands of Adventure (feels like I'm still at the theme park while back at the hotel). And the rides are AWESOME, but only if you like more of a thrill.

We've always said.....we go to WDW for the atmosphere, but we go to Universal for the RIDES!

Very well said :cheer2: I will admit that Disney is my perfect vacation. We take other small trips but Disney is the big vacation. This summer we will go to Houston for a weekend trip (Astros and Splash Town) just to get away. But our real escapes are to Disney.
