Seems that I have an entire basement full of paper and supplies, but whenever I'm working on some pages I need to go back to my LSS for just the right color, or something ran out or . . . Does this happen to you too, or do I just need more stuff???

Hmmm. Think I'll go and really stock up today. I have about $150 worth of credit at Memories. Oh boy!

I have one of those three drawer huge rolling carts and one whole drawer is filled but I'm sure if I went shopping I coud find more that I had to have!

PS- What is a LSS?

LSS means local scrapbook store. :D

I have been a paper collector all my life, from stationary, linen, parchment, wrapping, tissue, hand made, to just any kind of paper. I have even saved the filler papers inside of products if I thought they were pretty or unusual. I thought it was some kid of sickness or something. Once I got it under control and was able to part with those beautiful papers I started to scrap. I knew if I let myself it would snowball out of control. Although I have resisted buying every piece of paper I like, I save every single solitary scrap. I have so many scraps I even teach a class on techniques for using your scraps. But I agree Pammy jo, There is always a need for another piece to finish that layout or you need a color that is just a shade different from what you have.

bananiem, thank you. Currently I go to AC Moore, JoAnn's & Michael's, but I wonder if there is a non-chain store LSS near me in CT?!

I have pounds upon pounds of paper and always seem to need more

I never seem to have enough...even though I just bought 100 sheets of paper at my LSS, I seem to always be looking for more...or a different color, or texture! LOL I love Scrappin paper, it is my weakness!! LOL

I went and bought more paper today (only about 20 pieces) and lo and behold tonight I'm scrapping and and of course I need another color to mat with. Hi-ho, hi-ho, back to the store I go!

Chessie, I thought I was the only one who couldn't part with all my scraps. Today all I could think of was, I need to organize my scraps, there are too many and I can't find exactly what I need. Oh, this is a sickness isn't it? I'd love to take one of your classses on what to do with scraps. (besides organize them!)

ZPT, if you look in the back of one of the scrapbooking magazines (Creating Keepsakes or PaperKuts), they have a LSS directory listed by state. You might could find a LSS near you in CT that way. Or chech the yellow pages. Just a thought.

Not only do I have so much paper that I have run out of room for it, I have to keep upgrading the container I keep my scraps in. How do you organize scraps? Can you teach your class to us online? :D

One of may favorite things to make with scraps is serendipity squares. They are really fun to make and you can just go wild with them. You can use them for accents, tags or maybe just a slice about a half inch wide under a journaling box. You can have a serendipity crop swap party. All your friends have to bring is their scraps, cutter and adhesive. I use my X box as adhesive. Here is a how to link and an idea link.

ZPT,

There are atleast 5 LSS in CT that I found in the back of my CK magazine

Memories in Fairfield

NE Scrapbook in Canton

Paper Capers in Windsor

Scrapbook Palace in Statford

Wiggles and Giggles in Rocky Hill

not sure if any of these are near you, but I hope this helps. I do not shop at any of the chain stores because they have little selection compared to our LSS.

WDWMom thanks so much! Two of those are within 25 minutes of where I live, so very convenient. The baby and I will have to take a "field trip" some day soon! woo-hoo! Thanks again!

I love the serendipity squares too! I organize my scraps in a file box with a file for each color, that way as soon as I'm through with a color I just stick the leftovers there, and the next time I need a "red" I just pull out my red folder. It took forever the first time I organized them, but after that it's been wonderful!! I have files for pastels, heritage papers, disney papers, etc. too in addition to my solid color files.

How funny to be reading this post cuz I began "sorting" my paper this morning!

I organized my scraps ages ago and it has been a great help. I use 2 3-ring binders (cardstock & patterened) with sheet protectors to group like colors. For example: black, white, browns, tans, grays... sometimes there are several shades of a color in one protector. When I need a color I just flip thru my binder and it makes picking the right scrap a snap. Filing is easy too. I also keep a box under my scrap table to catch the itty bitty pieces that I use for serendipity squares, tiny punches or eventually handmade paper.

Now if someone can help me organize my full sheets of paper I am all set.

I have a TON of paper in 8.5x11 ...and about a 1/2 ton in 12x12. LOL

But since I recently decided to change to 12x12 size layouts.... I'm going to need to get a good variety of 12x12 cardstock.

OH, DH is gonna kill me.
