Do you ever feel like people don't pay attention to you on the Dis?

Sometimes when I'm on the Dis I feel like if I say something I scare people away. I posted on some Tag Fairy thread and once I posted no one said anything. I was just curious if any one else felt like this.

I feel completely lame admitting this, but I got rid of my old DIS persona, with thousands of posts, because I felt "unpopular."

No, no, I completely understand....

However, I have been getting people on the Community Board to communicate with me. I do get ignored over on the Universal/IOA board though and I'm not sure why.

I have felt like that too....I'm shy to begin with, I used to take it to heart, but I know there's nothing to it!

I am definitely a thread killer. When I subscribe to a thread and then check back later to see who else has responded, and it still shows me as the last poster......ugh, how depressing!

Oh all the time...lol.But I tend to be sensitive though. I posted a couple of weeks back asking for some advice and I got one response Oh well, I guess some people are just more interesting than me...hahahahaha. NO honestly I think some people are just on the boards more often and tend to post to those they know well. I try not to feel badly, although its hard sometimes.

There is a special name for all of us...we are called thread-killers.

I used to take it personally but now I know that some topics are more interesting to people than others. I don't think anyone is ignoring you intentionally unless you are a troll.....

I think we all feel that way from time to time.

There are some people on the DIS that can post that they just burped and get pages of responses, others can't. It's just the way the DIS is....

I wouldn't take it personally. I have posted what I thought was a great, thought-provoking post that had little or no response. A few days later I posted something inane about being mistaken for a Target employee because I wore a red shirt and khaki pants to the store and got TONS of replies!

You just never know what people are going to respond to. it could be that there aren't a lot of people on the boards, or there is a lot of posts and yours falls to page 3 or 4 quickly, or even maybe people read it, but don't feel they have anything to add.

Just keep trying. I think everyone here has been a thread killer at one time or another.
