Do you ever feel like people don't pay attention to you on the Dis?

Oh yeah, I feel that way quite often. I always hate it when I go back to a thread I posted on and see that my post is still the last one, even a day or two later. Makes me feel kinda bad, but yet I know it happens to most others now and then too so I try not to take it personally.

The TAG FAIRY is the one who definitely ignores me though! I have been hoping for a new tag or two (would love to see the cookie one go bye-bye) but it ain't happening. I've been tempted to tinker with (or is it toggle with?) my tags but I know I'd probably lose the other tags too, so I just leave it alone...sigh...

I don't think some of the boards get as many hits as the Community Board, esp. the US/IOA board.

I think the community board is the most popular because it is sort of open range. You can discuss anything.

I also don't think people intentionally ignore you (unless you're a big meanie and I have met very few people here who could be called mean!) but sometimes people get caught up in one thread, or they miss a days worth of posts and don't always respond.

I always feel awful when I miss prayer and PD posts. I always hope people realize I'm not intentionally ignoring their call for good wishes but that sometimes, it's hard to keep up with every thread, esp when the thread gets bumped back a few pages.

Heck, I was doing a search the other day and I found a thread that had my name in the subject like that I somehow missed.

If you want to get more "attention" post on the political threads. If you want to get more involved, post to all of the threads, or start your own based on generl topics that everyone can share.

I differentiate between attention and involved because I think some of the political threads can get nasty....I know I've gotten caught up in them, though I'm trying more and more now not too.
Sometimes people in those threads get attention in a bad way.

Why should this be any different for me than at home? My kids seem to ignore me unless they are hungry, need clothes, or homework needs to be signed. UGH. I read more than I post. At times I just don't know what to say.

MD, I have to say that recently, it has seemed you are extremely popular! So I got a smile from this thread. I actually wandered into a TF thread to see who you were, a couple of days ago because you were so involved.

And yes, I do have ego issues on occasion around here! Seems I can ask a question or answer a question and it is totally ignored!

If it wasn't for the "Song Title" game my post count would be so low. I started on the Theme Park Strategies and Attraction Board. Then moved to the Restaurant Board. I love all the parks, that's how I found the Dis. But I think I like the Community Board the most. It's funny to read this thread because some of the posters here are ones I always look for. Personally, I want to post much more than I do. But I always think "who cares?", so why post? And I'm one of those people who have an opinon about everything.

There are some snobs, some know-it-alls, and some cliques (just like anywhere). You won't find your own circle of friends if you don't post! Don't give up.....keep in mind your goal to make friends here!

Hugs to you. I feel like that way quite a bit myself. I really try not to let it bother me, but sometimes it really does. I guess I sometimes get my feelings hurt to easily.

Talk about feeling like a loser, I "bumped" my own thread two times on another Dis board, and still no response. Plenty of "lurkers" but no answer. With the way people love to share their knowledge on some of these boards, I sure did feel "slighted".
