Someone here on the boards asked a great philosophical question about this very issue last year, "When you look around the dinner table, does it feel like someone is missing?"

And I thought, "Who the frig eats at the dinner table anymore??" I don't!

I eat on the sofa, in front of the tv. Sometimes I'll eat in my bedroom in front of the tv. I'm not a fan of eating at the table unless its a special occasion. Of course, I live alone so this is easy. But even if I did not live alone, I would *not* change this habit. I'm set in my ways, and I like the way I do things.

I know I'm not the only one like this!

we eat dinner at the Kitch table on rare occassions when we are all home together at the same time..

most of the time we eat at the coffee table in the living room :happytv:

We almost always eat at the table. Sometimes for special TV events(Superbowl, stuff like that) we'll all eat in the front of the TV but that happens maybe a handful of times a year.

We got rid of the table and have an office/desk there now. :rolleyes1

We eat on the coffee table.

All six of us don't always sit down together but whoever is home at the time of the main dinner meal sits at the table -- usually at least 3 or 4 of us and sometimes 6 (especially on the weekends).

We eat at the table. Before we had kids we ate in front of the TV, but babies and kids are too messy to eat anywhere else but the kitchen. Eating at the table makes for a nice family time for all 6 of us to sit together and catch up on what happened during our day. :grouphug:

We always eat at the dinner table - that's where my kids talk the most. We even sit and talk long after we've finished. I love it. My favourite part of the day :)

I'm almost 25, my brother is 27, and we have always eaten dinner at the table. I work a lot of nights but when I'm home I eat dinner with my family. It's always beens that way, through high school (when we had so many activities that our dinners weren't always at the same time every night), through moving out, etc. No TV is allowed to be on either.

When I moved to Cincinnati with my ( now ex) fiance we always ate in front of the TV. Actually one of the memories I missed the most was before me moved in together we would plan dinners, play music, and enjoy a great meal at the table. I didn't feel that closeness when we watched TV through the whole meal.

We have a table but we don't use it. When I got to my Mom's for dinner we eat at the table most times.

We always eat at the table (with no tv blaring in the background).

We eat breakfast and dinner at the kitchen table every day. Sunday dinner, holidays, and special occasions are in the dining room. We snack in the family room (sometimes) and never eat in the bedrooms.

We eat at the dinner table for every meal. I have a huge kitchen that flows right into the great room and we can see the tv easily from the table. At times we do watch the tv while eating. :goodvibes

We always eat dinner at the table. Now lunch is always when everyone is on their own so that means some might eat together at the table or someone might eat while watching tv.

We always eat at the dinner table, no tv. It's an important family time for us, sharing, discussing, etc. Even if it is just DH and I, we always eat at the table. The only exceptions are things like the Super Bowl...but then, we are still all together.

We eat supper together every night usually but not always at the table. Breakfast & lunch it is eat when you are hungry, 1 at a time, or not at all thing in our house but we do get together & eat 1 meal per day together.

We eat at the bar in the kitchen most meals. Old fashioned, all of us together. Well, actually, DH misses dinner most evenings due to working late, but the kiddos and I eat and talk. No tv during dinner. Very occasionally we will eat pizza in front of the tv.

We eat at the kitchen table most night. Every now and then we eat in the living room but not often. A couple times a month we eat at the dinning room table.

We eat at the table every night. I didn't as a single person though.
