Do you collect Fantasty Pins? I do. I was wondering how many others do. I just put these in a frame and was surprised how many I have gotten. For those that are asking "What is a fantasy pin"? Well it's a pin that is not a true Disney pin but has a Disney theme or projects something Disney.

DEAR NAT,

I HAVE SOME OF THESE PINS THAT I LOVE.

MY FAVORITE IS A SORCERER MICKEY AND IT SAYS THE DISNEY STORE ON IT. AS I WORKED FOR THE STORE FOR 5 YEARS IT IS SPECIAL.

AND WOW, I JUST SAW MY BIRTHDAY PIN IN YOUR FRAME, HOW EXCITING.

Hey Nat, that Millennium Dreamers McDonald's banner isn't a fantasy pin. (or is it and I just don't know any better?) I thought that one was a sanctioned pin given out by McDonalds.

We haven't gotten into the fantasy pins, but Lauri did get me that Uncle Scrooge with the Coke can a few months ago. I love the look on his face ... like he's saying "you're charging me HOW much for this???" :D

I recognize a few of those pins in that frame! I guess I collect some fantasy pins.

HI! I collect a few. My favorite is Betty Boop and Donald's nephew's holding a coke can. Fantasy pins are just as nice as regular Disney pins!!

jsut the ones that we all design to identify ourselves. I don't own any of the ones where people have "borrowed" a Disney character or just put a Disney copyright on without paying proper royalties.

I'm not sure Sue Ellen. It was my understanding that the Mcdonalds made the pins up but only certain McDonalds. Some say just Millinium Dreamers others have the countrys on them and none are back or front stamped with a copy right. I have a few others from the MD set as well if you look you will see a pin that says M and D in the McDonalds Script for the M and the D for Disney and UK under it. That was given to the group from the UK to trade. But truth be told I'm not sure.

I agree Alberto.. Some of the pins are just as nice.

Since my two sons are character focused (one on Goofy, one on Donald), they have quite a few fantasy pins.

I have a few too....the ones that Kathryn Pintrader mentioned....that represent our relationship to something special related to our interest in Disney.

I really like Fantasy Pins! Some of them are really artistic, and just as nice as the "real" pins! At first I wasn't sure about collecting them, because I think some people tend to look at them a little askance, but now that I am becoming a little more confident in my collecting, I figure I like them, so that's enough!! And, now, I am definitely becoming focused in my search for them. It also helped that I talked to someone on our trip over the holidays who was very well-versed in the Disneyanna Fantasy Pins, and some of those have been designed by/and in honor of some of the "old" imagineers, as he related to me.

I see some in Nat's frame that I have--I think I'm up to 9 or 10 so far.

I saw some of the pins which my brother and I designed. We love to design the pins. Glad to see someone else likes our designs.
