I stay in hotels a lot (got up to 4 nights a week, every week last year), so I have seen some gross things, but also, I work alot so I don't have time to sleep in a bag etc...
Here is my checklist:
1st
Lysol:
bed, pillow and sheets
- check sheets for left over suprises - sometimes they must not change them
- switch rooms if I find suprise
Then I call down to the front desk and have a blanket brought to me ( this way it is clean- don't use bedspread, I have seen horrible things)
Bathroom
Check Toilet - clean w/ clorox wipe
Check shower - clean bottom where I step and handles w/ clorox wipe
( I found someones estrogen patch stuck to the wall of my shower once recently - so this is a recently added item)
Wipe sink and hairdryer handles
I don't use the coffee pot, but if I did I would check it
Main room:
Check to make sure the window is locked (safety- I know someone who was attacked this way by a hotel mantainence man in the middle of the night)
Wipe the follwing items with clorox wipe:
Phone Receiver
Remote for TV
Fridge / microwave if using it
This all takes me 5 minutes. I know people that I work with that go overboard because it makes them feel better, but this is just what I do to be comfortable
