Do you buy Temp-Tations Ovenware from QVC? (kinda long)

I LOVE watching QVC when they have the "In the Kitchen with David". He usually has a presentation with the Temp-Tations. I love kitchen stuff and this is something that has caught my eye. I don't know anyone though that has actually bought some.

Do you like it? What are your favorite pieces, most versatile pieces?

I have a vision to re-do our kitchen one day (I'm sure it won't be for a few years, maybe once the kids move out, who knows) But anyhow, right now I have a huge handmade hutch along side a big double-sided cabinet. The cabinet has all of my canned goods/ziploc bags/crockpot/kitchen aid food processor and a big stock pot. And that big hutch has 3 doors on the bottom that has a bunch of odd/ends like plastic containers, serving trays, etc. But on top of the hutch I have 3 shelves that has all of my Pfaltzgraf dishes. I keep the dinner plates in a kitchen cabinet but all the rest of my Pfaltzgraf is on this hutch. I've come to realize that sooner or later I would like to downsize and that these things are probably one of the first things to go. There are only a few things of my Pfaltzgraf that I actually use. A veggie dish and a few bowls. The rest are mainly for decoration I guess :confused3 :rotfl: I have a cookie jar, canister set plus extra canisters, sugar/creamer, salt/pepper, soup tureen, etc. It's just a lot.

BUT, my big plan is to get rid of the hutch and the big cabinet and install new cabinets to replace the ones that I already have and to add cabinets to the wall that the hutch/cabinet is on plus build a counter with lower cabinets as well there. The only thing is, is that the heat register is on that wall, so I'm wondering if I'd be able to build lower cabinets there....have to think of something because I really need more counter space and more cabinets.

So I guess after my long winded explanation....I guess my main question would be if you own any of the Temp-Tations, if you like it, where'd you get it. Or do you own any other type of stoneware/cookware/dinnerware?

I've never bought temptations (although I've eyed it up a time or two--love the old world green!). But I did re-do my kitchen last year and we had the same dilemma with the register in an empty wall. All you need to to is to order a lower cabinet with a "toekick" vent. Then all the installers have to do is connect your actual vent to the toekick...easy peasy! My installers fashioned it to fit on-site.
:goodvibes

I have a TON of Temptations, in various patterns and colors. I'm crazy like that. I have Fiesta Ware for my every day dishes so pretty much anything goes. I love the Temptations bakeware. I can do a lasagna in it and without rinsing it comes clean in the dishwasher. I really love the wire baskets with the trivet because things can come out of the oven and go straight to the table without hot pads.

I find them very durable but they will chip, like any stoneware. The finish on them is nice though. I have quite a bit of the polka dot versions. I have some of the oval take along casseroles and just got some of the square ones. I use both a lot.

I just got this set in light blue for Christmas and use it all the time. I like the lids for putting in the fridge.

OH....you just made my day!!! I never thought I'd be able to have cabinets where my register is but this is genius. :thumbsup2 Whoohoooo!!!

For those who have a bunch of Temptations, where do you store it all? Does it take up a lot of room? I've seen some that are stackable but I'm looking to downsize once the kids move out, so I know I won't need a bunch of it. Maybe a set? Do they sell pieces individually or are they all sets? And is QVC the only place that sells them (aside from the Temptations site itself)?

Are you my twin? :confused3:rotfl: I have Fiesta ware for dinner plates and bowls plus bowl from Sur le Table and World market. Additionally, DH and I bought some really cool handmade serving pieces from Cozumel so my "colors" are all over the place!

I have wanted Temp-taitons for ever and finally bought the round set right before Thanksgiving. I LOVE it! I got the blue old world pattern and it fits great with my eclectic style. They are so versatile and I too love the lids for just popping left overs in the fridge.

At the moment, I have them in stacks on the counter under the Mexican pottery. Ideally, I want a bakers rack to display them and the microwave but that is low down on the money list.

I have several pieces of Temp Tations. I'm happy with it and it does clean up easily. The pieces I have stack. I do not like the S & H charges and usually wait until they have free S & H or at a reduced rate.

TC :cool1:

I never could decide on a "color" for my kitchen so I bought Fiesta Ware in every color! I have 5 or 6 sets of Temptations and none of them are the same color! When I set the table and bring my Temptations as serving bowls, it's very colorful. I like it that way! We're informal and fun! :yay:

They do stack but they still take a lot of space. I have a cabinet full and about half my corner cabinet full as well. I might have a problem!

Okay, I'm going to put my dunce-cap on right now but I've never heard of Fiesta Ware. Is this a part of Temptations?

No, Fiestaware is a great line of colorful plates. Here is a history:

It is fun to get all different colors because even though they don't match, they "go" if you know what i mean. Also, they are American made which is a nice bonus.

Most big retailers, eg. Macy's, JC Penneys, Kohls, all carry Fiestaware so it is easy to find.

You've just stuck a knife in my heart. ;)

I am shocked that someone has never heard of Fiestaware. It's been around forever.

Ha! Another Fiestaware and Temptations owner here (and I never really thought the two went together, so what a weird coincidence!) I've only had my temptations (6 pieces) for a few months, but so far I really like them. They've replaced a bunch of serving bowls and a bunch of bakeware. My only complaint is that the lids don't all seem to fit perfectly - sometimes they are really hard to get on tight. Other than that, we've been really happy with them. My mom bought them for me at the QVC outlet.

I dont have them but my mom and one of the girls at work love them the girl barb i work with goes to the outlet(about an hr away) and gets the sets when they are on sale(60% off or more) she has all different sizes, shapes, and colors. they are very pretty when she brings them in to work

We have a few pieces and they are really nice. Easy to clean. We store it in our cabinets or on the shelves of our hutch.

I also have many colors of fiesta ware dishes, serving bowls and small platters. I love it.

I have 1 set of Temptations from QVC, in an olive green color that looks nice in my kitchen. It sits on the counter top currently, but has been moved occasionally to a cupboard. It's a 16 piece set (that includes the trivets and black wire baskets) and is really sturdy and easy to clean. I'm sure it was probably a today's special value when I bought it, or some other special deal. I'm very happy with and use it frequently.

MY BFF has the old world green and she loves it. We ate with her on Turkey Day and she had several casserole dishes along with the racks. Her table looked nice. I love blue for the kitchen and "their" blue doesn't appeal to me.:cutie:

We always get a kick out of the way David Venable says, "Hello Yellow!" Sorry, just felt the need to share that. :upsidedow

My sister has the red polka dot temptations. I will say they are heavy. Much heavier than I thought. But I dropped a piece from about 4 feet and it hit the fround and nothing happened to it. Boy was I surprised.
