Do you buy extended warranties?

Well we bought a Kenmore fridge at Sears. it does have an icemaker/water thing. I have heard that these can possibly have problems.
The warranty was $169 for 3 years and includes a once a year maintenance too. I can cancel anytime in the first year and get a full refund.
We have never owned a fridge with the ice/water in the door and we have really hard water..we just thought the extra protection was helpful.

I think the regular warranty was 1 yr, 5 yr on compressor.
and the extended warranty is by Sears Service.

so we did it...but then these are all probably ploys to sucker us in.
anyway...its nice to hear others opinions.

I do on certain items. I got one for our water softner and I am so glad I did. It recently quit working, called the sears repair man and when they came to fix it, it would of cost us 426.00. Sure am glad we had that warranty.
Also have the warranty on our washer and dryer in our RV, and we have used the repair man for that too! A board went bad. Not sure of the cost because DH uses it to stay in out of state (Construction).
Somethings are just worth getting the extra warranty. IMHO

We usually don't but when my husband got me a digital camera(Sony Cybershot) he did-he figured with 2 little kids in the hosue, there was a good chance they'r get their paws on it aty some point. LOL
Well the kids didn't do anything to it, but the zoom was acting funky-we brought it back, and they fixed it for us. The bill was $382, of which we paid nothing, so in that case I was very glad!!!
Also, we bought a used car, 2 years old, and got an extended warranty on that.
