Do you bring a water bottle to the parks?

I take a disposable one that w e freeze the night before. I don't carry a bag, love breezing through the gate so i don't have to worry about losing a good one

I also drink about a gallon of water a day. It's my beverage of choice throughout the day (not that I don't drink other things, but water is what I drink the most of). We drive to Disney so we bring a case or two of water along with us and keep that in the room. I get water with meals and then just buy a few bottles of water throughout the day as needed. We rarely spend more than about $15 a day on water in the parks for the 5 of us. That's a drop in the bucket (no pun intended) compared to the total cost of the vacation...and something we factor in when saving for the trip.

I don't like carrying a heavy, drippy bottle with me so use counter-service water most of the time. Unfortunately there are plenty of times in the park (like when waiting for Lights, Motors, Action) when I NEEDED a drink NOW and couldn't get to a counter service spot. So now I carry a small bottle of water. It's really small. I got it in a kids lunchable meal. It's small enough to fit just about anywhere but holds enough to stave off dehydration until I can get more.

We have used this insulated Polar Bottle for many of our trips. We each have our own, and they're easy to carry around either in a backpack or by the little strap. It is insulated, so the contents do stay colder much longer than in a regular water bottle. These bottles are available on Amazon, or at Dick's (or other sporting goods stores). They run about $10.

As kids, my family and I would bring a huge water bottle for all of us to share. It must have at least fit a liter of water. Now when I go to the parks, I like to bring my own separate bottle of water. The night before, we fill it out with ice from the machine so that it's nice and cold the next morning. I would definitely recommend bringing a refillable water bottle. It'll encourage you to drink and stay hydrated. From time to time I do give in and buy a nice cold bottle from a snack stand-- it's just so enticing! Orlando water isn't too bad just.... different.

Polar bottle here fill with ice in room. Refill with waters from quick service.

No, we do not bring in water bottles. We just ask for water at the counter service restaurants when we get thirsty.

We do not normally at the parks. At home activities we take metal bottles purchased thru snapfish with their personal photos on them.

I bring a couple of flask such as Hydroflask and the like which keeps bottled water chilled for hours. We will then top up with bottled water purchased at meal times or iced water from quick service counters :)

If we use plastic bottles we tend to keep them and refill so that we limit our plastic recycling.

I carry a small 14oz Nalgene bottle. Got it years ago when I got my first Brita Pitcher. I bought the Disboards green cover off EBay for a few bucks. It's the perfect size, not too heavy even when full and easy to finish before it gets too warm. It's wide mouth so I can fill it easily at the self serve soda machines (ice and water do not require a chip to use) with no chance of it touching. The cover means I can clip it to my belt loop or if I'm using a backpack. The cover also helps it stay cool and keeps it from sweating on my hands or my bag.

I'm so used to caring a water bottle, I carry one every day to work or whenever I'm in the car, that I feel loss without it. This one is pretty much only used for travel due to the size, at home I use a bigger one that has a flip straw, but it's great in the parks and at the airport (goes through security empty and I fill it in the terminal.

Okay I went looking for a photo of me wearing my bottle. You can see it here but when I'm standing the bottle hangs more towards the outside of my leg. Really easy and hands free. Sometimes I'll atually put it in my front pocket while it's clipped on so it doesn't swing.

Contigo thermos travel mug. I fill with ice at hotel in the morning and refill with water the rest of the day.

Do you find you have any trouble refilling the actual camelbacks? We have camelback bladders and backpacks that we use for hiking/rock climbing/running around the city during the summer and I LOVE the idea of being able to use one of these instead of having to haul around a purse or the like, but I'm concerned about how to actually refill it in the park.

My DH & I each carry one so we usually don't need to refill but have a couple of times on really hot days. We just get a free cup of ice water and pour it in. The opening on the water bladder is really wide and screws off easily.

They also make smaller child size backpack style camelbacks that lay fairly flat on the back and are not cumbersome for a child to wear. It gives them easy access to water all day too without having to ask for it frequently.

We start the day with our own disposable [refillable] water bottles, and once those are empty or warm, we switch to ice water at CS.

Nope. My laziness outweighs my cheapness there. I have no desire to carry more than a small purse.

I buy bottled water or ask for a cup of water when at a CS.

Has anyone filled up the resort mugs with ice and took them to the park? If so did they keep the water cold for very long?
One more question. Does the water at the food courts in the resorts have that funny taste to it?
I'm still trying to decide what we should do for water during the day. I really don't want to tote a water bottle around but I know we will have to do something. How much is the bottles of water at the resorts?
We are flying in with only carry on bags and will not have a car. I was thinking of buying the bottled water at the resort or taking our refillable mugs filled with ice water.

We've only used our resort mugs in the parks for our grey goose slushies from the cart in France and it def keeps them cold, lol! So, with lots of ice I'd think they'd last a while, but there's that whole thing of having to carry them around all day which you mentioned not wanting to do, and they are expensive to lose! Plus, really, filled up with the ice they don't hold all that much water.

We used to always start with buying a dasani bottle and then just fill up again through out the day. This trip last weekend, our hottest trip, my DD24 insisted in getting the free cups of ice water and it worked out great! We got free water in MK, EP, and DHS, and only once had not the best tasting, but not awful, water. Almost always it tasted good, and nice and icy cold! Best ones were from Starbucks - nice bigs glasses of ice water in the cute cups with mickey on them, lol. We got lots of water and only got smaller cups a couple times. We saved a bunch of money, had ice water for awhile not just cold bottle until it warmed up in the heat, and no worries about losing a mug or nice bottle. So, my advice is to get the free cups of ice water, I know we'll definitely continue to do that after doing it so successfully on our last trip!

Ok thanks, sounds like a good plan ! We will just take one bottled water with us and then get the free water from the parks. I know once we did get a glass of water from Aloha Island and it tasted terrible ! So that is one place you don't want to get water from.

We start with bottles of water and usually dispose of them once we're finished and buy new bottles. We use reusable bottles at home. so I don't feel too bad. We drink the bottles when they're cold or mostly cold. We share them among the five of us. I just don't want to have to carry too much if I don't have to.

We use a cooler back pack that fits 8 16oz bottles, freeze two of them and put the other 6 in cold. Usually lasts us all day in August heat. We're pushing a strolled so we store it underneath so no one has to lug it around.
