My religious belief system includes belief in Heaven and Hell.
Here's what I believe. I believe that those who love us never stop loving us, even when they die. I believe their spirit lives and that once in a while, it may manifest itself to us, by an orb, a scent or just a "knowing" that it is the person.
The year after my mother-in-law died, I was taking some yard waste to our local transfer station. They have a specified area where yard waste goes...basically it's a large 3 sided concrete box. This particular day, I pulled up to the box and there sitting in the middle of it was an intact gardenia bush, about 1.5 feet tall. Gardenias were my late mother-in-law's favorite flower. Anyhow, I picked it up aand brought it home. I just "knew" she sent it to me. I told my DH who thought I was nuts.

It was November, I live in CT. He said "Well, if it's been outside in a pot up there, it's probably frozen and will die". I said "It's not going to die because it's from your mother". He just

. Anyhow, I watered that plant throughout the winter. It didn't die. It got bigger and more lush and then it bloomed...on Mother's Day.
Yeah...it was from my DMIL.
