Do you believe in Champ of Lake Champlain? Does it exist? Is it a dinosaur? Sea monster? Theories?

Some background on "Champ" for those who have not heard of him. "Champ" is refereed to as a sea monster living in Lake Champlain for hundreds of years. Records of sightings have existed since the times of local native Americans passing stories down about the creature for generations. Champ is also protected by NY and VT law (no, really it's true). Some believe him to be a Plesiosaurus. Others think it is just a species of sturgeon. Others only think he is only a myth/legend. What do you believe and does anyone have any stories they have heard about "Champ"? What should happen to a "Champ" if one is ever found? Thanks.

Have heard of it, but never read up in detail. I guess I waffle between illusion and undiscovered species on this stuff.

I don’t believe in champ but I do have a cousin who swears he saw a “lake monster” in Maine. 😂 I think someone just had a snake they shouldn’t of had and it got to big and released it.

Never heard of it. Don't believe in the Loch Ness thing either. From the previous 2 posts it sounds like some sort of advertising/tourist ploy.

Same here. Even with the Loch Ness monster, wouldn't it have to be like 500 yrs old by now? LOL

I thought I heard about most of these small-town creatures and local legends, but this is new to me. I agree with the tourist ploy idea, but even as a skeptic I think stuff like this is fun.

How does Nessie get from Loch Ness to Lake Champlain? There must be some underwater wormhole or something she goes through that we can't find.
