Do you avoid telling some people about a DVC purchase?

I was sitting in the BWV pool recently, trying to relax and enjoy a beverage, and had to listen to a fellow DVC'er hold court on how many points they owned, what a great deal they got on them, etc. At that moment, it was my earnest wish that the offending DVC'er would have kept their ownership to themselves.

I know resale owners at Aulani are salty about not getting the sparkly "owner" wristbands (myself included... I think it's petty). I try to tell myself the real reason we don't get them is because they don't want people asking us questions about our membership in the hot tubs for fear we will point them towards resale.
